Can’t see NJ getting that kind of return for a rental. Just don’t see teams that desperate but you never know. There always seems to be one GM that is willing to mortgage the future for one final shot before they get fired. Leave the team in ashes and let the new guy clean up his mess. |

New Jersey sure wants a lot of return for a guy on the wrong side of 25 and looking for Marner money..... |

But again there is this from Friedman
"Elliotte Friedman said the Coyotes top-two prospects (Barrett Hayton and Victor Soderstrom) aren’t believed to be in that offer. It sounds like the two clubs are haggling over prospect defenseman Kevin Bahl. Friedman feels the Devils are trying to leverage the Coyotes’ trade package into better offers from other clubs, but they’re struggling to find a willing suitor. He added the Devils haven’t granted permission to interested clubs to talk contract extension with the Hall camp."
So the Fidge says the devils are not allowing teams to talk to his people about an extension.
EK with the fake news. |

Is there such a thing as being on the wrong side of 25? I’m pretty sure that magic number is 30 🤦🏻♂️ |

talk about moving the goalpost! in 2 or 3 years, it will be
"19 and still not on the first line? he's too old and a bust. trade him for an old , dirty jock-strap" |

dear NJ,
you can keep your overpriced, made-of-glass rental, we’ll keep our picks & prospects and challenge for the cup this year and many more to come. thanks and goodbye.

How about Gostisbehere, Hagg, Felix Sandstrom, Rubotsov to the Devils.
Philly gets Hall if Hall is willing to sign an extension |

Why would Hall sign an extension, forego UFA, and commit to a team and an organization he has not yet played for. If he likes it, he can always sign there in the off-season.

He may have an idea where he wants to go and that team may require it but yeah I don’t get it either to an extent. I would most likely wait it out if I were him also. I guess there’s also the risk of injury? |

absolutely; he’d be a fool to not test the market. it’s been said that he wants to win but he obviously also wants to get paid. deal with playing wherever he’s sent this season and then let the bidding war begin. the next contract he gets is going to be the last big one he gets (i’d even go so far as to think it might be the last one he signs, given his injury history and the fact that - assuming he goes for 6-7 years, he’ll be in his mid-to-late 30’s when it’s finished).
going to free agency will have the low-to-mid tier teams with money throw gigantic offers at him that’ll make the contending teams with money dish out more. he can get money, term, and the potential to win a championship all at once. makes zero sense to not go that route. |

Given his injury history, he shouldn’t get too cute if the acquiring team puts a nice deal on the table.....assuming, of course, it’s a team he would be willing to stay with. If he has another long-term injury before getting to free agency, teams are going to think twice about giving him a big, long-term deal. |

So how are they going to go about plugging him back in the lineup when no one comes close to meeting their ridiculous demands? |

You would think or at least I would that holding him out for 2 consecutive games against teams that look like they're the most serious .. Devils had a deal in place..
Is he going to play again this year... or just be out until a deal is done ??? |
