I wouldn’t think anything of it. The kid creates more than Simmonds would do with the puck. Rather him shoot than try and make a fancy pass at this point.

Were there any other pieces given besides Bahl? If there are some decent other pieces involved I don't mind, but I could see this process dragging out longer if the offer was only Bahl+1st.

Yeah, Bahl should be an easy pass for Ray. If all that is really being offered for Hall is C tier prospects and conditional picks (frank) it, hold him until the deadline.

Not sure what Ray is up to but he has to get a prospect that is almost a lock to be a difference maker at the NHL. If he gets that I dont think anyone will care about addition fluffer added or taken away.

This team needs talent in a bad way and this is the perfect oppertunity to add to our pool of talent instead of add to our mountain of depth.

Yeah there has been a few things I have wanted to yell at Simmer so who cares.

The guy is here to protect team mates if he doesnt like it then he should of took that 5 mil from all the other teams lining up to throw money at him.

You’d have to think a goalie prospect might be involved. I’m not sold on Blackwood.
But if Ray is, I’d be ok with getting Soderstrom, Bahl, poopty contract, and a decent pick.

Maybe Bahl is a bottom pair guy, but can he really be worse than some of these (frank)ing pylons NJ has called a defenseman recently?

Raanta is a little older, he’d be a stopgap at best. Hill used to be regarded highly by some, not sure if he’s still considered a good goalie prospect.

I guess if you can shore up the D and the team D then Blackwood/Raanta would probably look a lot better.

Yes pass. Bahl might be an NHLer one day, but this would be underwhelming - which we might have to get used to.

Ray has to hold firm on his asking price. He just can't give him away for crap. If Arizona really want to unload that Hossa contract then Soderstrom, 2nd tier prospect, & 1st for Hall. The unloading of the money get Arizona out of a bind and they get a very good player that makes them very credible in the West.

Taking the Hossa contract does nothing unfortunately, its pretty much all on LTIR so it doesnt count against their cap

Well its sunday so likely an entire day of 0 news and more waiting for us fans....

I think us Devil fans have to start to realize we are NOT getting any teams "top" prospects for Hall, especially if it's just a rental. Bahl is not a bad prospect and might not be a bad starting point if the Devils want more pieces like a 1st round pick and another prospect. I just can't see them getting a Soderstrom, Hayton, Timmons, Newhook, Byram, Knight type of prospect in this trade. If Florida offered Borgstrom, Heponiemi and a 1st plus a condional pick I think Shero would take that even though there is no defensive prospect coming back unless a team like Arizona offered Bahl as part of their package (which could include a NHL player (maybe Garland?) and picks).
