I imagine Benny or Czarnik or both will be in for Tuesday tilt.

Guess they'll have to send somebody down. Rinaldo might actually get claimed the way he's playing.

Sorry, got my conversations crossed . I like Kylington, he reminds me of a better version of Brodie. I remember when most people were super frustrated with him and wanted to sell low--that would have been a mistake.

My ideal flames d-core (if we would've traded Brodie and V-mak never got injured):

Gio Rass
Hanifin Hamonic
Kylington Valimaki

I wouldn't say no to a good/tough #7 guy to fill in for injuries or when we need some extra oomph in the lineup though.

Yup, like Janko and all but he has stopped progressing. Rino brings a lot of intangibles that are useful.

Janko does not creat offence. Decent PK guy but there are a lot of plugs out there that can do the same.

Absolutely. He is in the Mackinnon calibre of player when he is healthy/on his game. If Colorado is able to land him they will be very hard to stop.

I'd be on board with something like-

Brodie
Kylington
Frolik
Conditional 2nd (becomes a 1st if Hall resigns)
~10 mill in space

Hall
Depth d? (We might have to search the market)

Hall's cap hit is only 6 mill this year, pretty manageable. That gives Tre the rest of the year to work his magic and try and get him resigned. Hall wants to win, and being able to stick a big middle finger up to the Oilers could be pretty alluring. Plus he was born in Calgary.

New Jersey gets help on the blueline with some prime years left in Brodie (who should be relatively easy to extend) and good potential in Kylington (his skating ability is elite--I think he will have a good career in the NHL). Frolik is still a useful depth player.

Your trades always crack me up. Somehow you think the Flames can trade away expiring contracts that they haven't been able to unload since last year and get back the best player available? The Devils aren't in the market for 30-year-old UFAs.

The Flames have to give up something useful to get something back. That's how trades work. If they're not willing to trade Valimaki or Pelletier and at least a 2nd, they won't get getting Hall.

A week ago I would have said the same thing but the last few games, Janko has looked way better. He actually looks dangerous some of the time...although I think he cost the Flames that first goal yesterday. I think they have to send down Rinaldo, as much as I hate to see it happen.

No Dube has kind of struggled the last two games & it would be easier to send him back down for a short time. Janko Frolik & Rinaldo had great chemistry & did exactly what we needed from a 4th line. I would try Bennett centring Lucic & move Ryan to RW & see how that worked. Czarnik would rotate in & out depending on how Magpie is playing. Magpie & that Lindholm Tkachuk line hasnt been that great. Magpie has 2 points in last 11 games, so we may want to try Czarnik there & sit Magpie a few games. Tre needs to make some trades.

Remember when we got robbed on that trade? It really is rather unfortunate that pick turned into Rasmus Andersson and Baertschi ended up as a middle six forward at best.

Unfortunate for the Canucks, that is.

Mannie hasn’t been Racking up the points but he’s generated a ton of chances and has had chemistry with chuck and Lin. As far as Rinaldo goes I accually don’t know why he is out of the lineup the guy is playing great!! Sit frolik

His agent requesting a trade, sounds familiar. Glad we parted ways with him. He's not that good & is a hurter. Finish out the contract & retire while your brain is still functioning Sven.

He's on waivers. Have a feeling he'll be bought out in June and playing in Switzerland next year.
