Need the goalies to play at least average because the skaters are usually playing above average. They can keep getting points the way they're playing..as long as goalies can play decent.
In other news remember when people around here were saying the Jets weren't a good team this year after the Pens lost to them?...lazy narrative because they lost 3 dmen on offseason. ...I wasn't buying it because they've had a very rich prospect pool for a decade now. Seems they've (Jets) found their way again. |

Yup. Great up until the last half hour. That was rough. Pesci was amazing. |

Yeah the last half hour dragged a bit but after watching it and kind of thinking about it the next day or so I get what he was trying to do with it and it didn’t bother me as much. I was surprised to see Sebastian Maniscalco in it playing Crazy Joey Gallo but he was good in his small amount of screen time. Looked exactly like him to. Jim Norton as Don Rickles was funny too. |

It’s (frank)ing long. Prepare to waste half a day lol it’s like 3.5 hours. But if you like goodfellas, casino, and the departed, you’ll like it. It’s not as.. “action packed” for a gangster flick? I guess but Scorsese is one of my favorite directors so I enjoyed it. |

Yeah it’s long. We watched it over two days. And the last hour or so drags like a ducks boner through weeds. |

The defense ranks are THIN. That first pairing will get folks talking (again) for sure.
Do you guys think Murray is playing hurt? Would the Pens allow him to do that so early in the season? |

Good news, we might get a look at that Pettersson-Marino pair we wanted to see.
Bad news, are we looking at two months of top pair JJ?
Maybe they try Marino and Letang together again once Schultz comes back? |

Yup, both were good, but for a moment it was hard for me to take Sebastian seriously. Not that he was bad, he was good, but when he kept asking, “you’re my brother?” I chuckled a little.

Heard on the radio today that Rust skated on his own today before practice. Great news considering the crutches and boot he was wearing a few days ago. |

Hahaha yeah I watched a documentary on Crazy Joey Gallo and he created his “mafia persona” after some guy in an old school movie because he was a smaller guy in stature so acted crazy to garner some notoriety.
I think before his 21st bday he was charged with robbing and assaulting someone and he acted crazy so he went to the psyche ward, fooled the doctors for a bit and when they released him “crazy Joey” stuck in the mafia world and he just kept that persona going.
At that time, when he was (frank)ing with Pesce’s character he legit had an open contract on his life (which wasn’t mentioned in the movie at all) and was kicking it with all of NYCs elite and was like (frank) it, bring it. |

There's a Hoffa biopic starring Nicholson and DeVito, but almost none of these characters are in it. I wonder if when they made that movie there was still a lot of unknown people.
DeVito was his best friend in the movies, but played by an Italian guy who was probably Sheeran in real life. |

Yeah he played Bobby Ciaro. He was a composite character loosely based off of his adopted son Chuckie and his homie Bobby Holmes. Hoffa was more based out of Detroit and that dude was deep in the mafia underworld. They only focused on one relationship (Irishman and the Bufalino family) but that dude had ties to the fife families and especially the Genovese family, so he was tied into Lucky Luciano and Vito Genovese and all those Vegas mobsters too.
As long as that movie was they could
Probably do a whole miniseries on Hoffas mafia ties lol |

I finished it last night, had to do it over 2 nights (almost stretched into 3). I don't really know much about the characters, but thought Pacino, as Hoffa, was fantastic. Also, kept waiting for Pesci to be, well, Pesci in a gangster movie. Very good though, but yes, very long. |
