When you go into extra innings in other sports, the rules don’t change.
- SuperSchennBros

I don't think any sports (note the plural) other than baseball have "innings." Maybe cricket, but I'm not sure.

I agree that I'd like them to close out games where they're leading int he 3rd. And yes, I'd like them to have been more competitive against Pittsburgh and NYI. But I'm not going to dwell on 2 games out of 16 where they just gained the most points out of any team for the month despite a packed, condensed schedule.

They're playing, as a whole, better than they've been for the past 3-4 years and it's actually an enjoyable product. So sorry I can't sit around a complain about a few (somewhat alarming) aspects of their game when the results have been positive overall.

I love the immediate twitter reactions "he doesnt seem right" "he's not himself"

OK try being a kid having to answer to dumb reporters about a current issue you're dealing with every single day that is preventing you from doing the one thing you love most.

- arichardson22

reporters be like......what are your symptoms...i'm not getting into that...which symptom bothers you the most....i'm not getting into that...when do the symptoms bother you...i'm not getting into that.

Waiting for one of them to say 5th.....5th ...5th ...5ht

MJL Any interest in Hall? Not sure where he fits here and his ask after this year but would you trade Jake and Ghost for him, might take a pick as well?
- Daceroni

I don't think the Flyers are looking to give the Devils a haul for a guy who is just going to leave them high and dry anyway.

Plus I don't think they're adding a big name LW, Hall or Gaudreau, without JVR going the other way.

crazy thought...but they are other sports, with very different rules. didn't look for the original extra innings or what not quote. Completely different sports

Baseball is the only one that doesn't change at all of the big four. Football and basketball both change the length of the quarter for overtime. Football also guarantees each team gets a possession unless a TD or defensive score happens.

Also, the Flyers are playing well. I choose to enjoy it. Joy isn't for everyone.

I am interested to see what they get for Hall. Hopefully they are dumb enough to think he will resign so they get nothing.

You'd have to think, top prospect, first, decent roster player. His cap hit is quite low for the caliber of player as well.

Harts' numbers this year rent great but he's been good for stretches and then seems to get yanked which hinder them. Lets hope he rights the ship and keeps his strong play going.

This! Seems silly but I can see it getting tiresome being pestered with "whats going on with Patrick." Still, Chuck could have handled that interview with the same amount of info

You could always give Ken Holland and the Oilers a call to see if they want to be fleeced by another Hall trade.

It's a personal issue he has to take care of and the media only cares about the sport/team they are covering. Let him skate and work out with privacy for the distraction he needs. I wish he never named Carcillo at all.

Well I only gave two examples of the worst outings we’ve had. I didn’t like giving up the lead to Montreal on Saturday or Calgary the week before.

I’m not sitting around complaining. I’m pointing out what I want to see improved. Most of you are complaining about my posts. Making things personal (not you).

You're like the baby wailing in the restaurant. Nobody cares why you're crying. Everybody just wants you to stop.
- Tomahawk

How many of you walk up to the baby or the baby’s parents and say “shut up!”

The real issues are your own. You can choose to ignore me but you don’t.

exactly. you put out an opinion, people respond, you counter, they counter, whatever, its a debate. no need to get defensive or cry
- sjk540

So in your mind, you guys just simply respond. I’d say the crying belong to those who respond to my posts because I’m being mean to their team.

If you have a counter to this, I would love to hear it.

You posted a rant complaining of others or "team negative". THOSE can be ignored. You came and aired out your dirty laundry from a previous thread, because you couldn't ignore others. That's my point.

Learning to close out games is part of the maturation process for a young team.

We're all basking in the progress up to this point, enjoying the moment. Even Team Negative is on board.

You're being a drag, a real wet blanket. Give it a rest already.

- Tomahawk

Again, his opinion is fair game. There is plenty to attack in his opinion. Why attack him personally. He doesn't have to give it a rest if he wants to give his opinion.
