If players are abusive or (frank)ing awful, then sure lets hear it.

Generally the people in positions of power have the power to abuse people and have them keep their mouth shut.

but if there are poopty abusive racist players...lets hear it

- senstroll

It all depends how we define 'abuse'. If Bab's yelling at a player because they suck is abuse then let the flood gates open...

Wasn't there a report of a incident that happened after the game 7 loss last year? Does anyone remember this? Something about either babs and gardiner, or babs and wilie getting into it in the tunnel or dressing room or something?

Much ado about nothing - but apparently Babcock was 'a really bad guy'.

Marner (from nhl.com):

A report in the Toronto Sun over the weekend said during the 2016-17 season, Babcock asked a rookie to rank his teammates from hardest-working to least hard-working and that the coach, in turn, told the players ranked at the bottom of the list. That rookie was Marner.

"He did apologize after, and I think he knew he was mistaken," Marner said, "but for the three years I was here after that situation, especially my second and third years, he really trusted me out on the ice and I think you could see that.

"I felt that he had the trust in me to put me out there in situations he didn't in my first year. I had a pretty good relationship with him at the end of it."

Marner said Babcock's explanation at the time was he was simply trying to motivate him. Marner also said he was fortunate he could discuss the matter with the teammates involved with no ill will harbored.

"[Babcock] was just trying to show I should work harder, but it's over with now, it's out of my mind," Marner said. "In my case, I kind of forgot about it right away, I didn't really care too much later on. I was lucky enough the guys in the locker room understood the situation and didn't take it to heart and stuck by my side. … It's over with now."

When the players crying foul are guys like CHELOIS... well, lets just say I take that with a grain of salt...
- Hockey_Reverend

There are multiple players talking about how bad of a person he is...Not just a handful man.

First you were trying to defend him and now you know you can't do that anymore...so you try and cry that there are some players out there AS bad as Babcock. Sure there most definitively are but that doesn't change that Babs is a bad person.

You are just assuming.

I see you are trying to find players that are bigger ass holes than Babs. Cool.

It doesn't change that we all think Babs is an ass hole and are glad he is gone

- Santo_44

His 6 million per year for the next several years, world jr gold medal, iihf world championship title, stanley cup ring, over 1000 nhl games coached and 2 gold medals all say he doesnt give a flying fack what some losers say about him on a blog.
Had the leafs been winning, hed still be the coach.

Okay, whatever. If you think its good that this is happening good for you. Frazen was yelled at. Chelios was asked to stop pretended it was 1993. This is news? Its news that a professional sports team coach is a jerk? Babs is a jerk. I am glad he is gone. If there is real criminal behavior, then come forward. This sounds like sour grapes mostly...

Speaking of jerks, anyone remember the famous Burke press conferences!? Maybe some of the reporters are having nightmares from that?

Dunno man.

A lot of hockey people don't think he is going to get another job in the NHL. Farraro and Dregs said it yesterday.

Impossible, this was suppose to traumatize marner cause babs is monster

He coached here for 4 years and in the NHL for decades.

Yeah, we are allowed to talk about him a few weeks after he has been fired.

This is what I don't like about all this. Babs is an idoit and I am gald he is goine, but lets not forget what this team was when he arrived. He doesn't deserve to be slandered like this. Never getting a job again? Really? Seems a bit far at this point...

2 guys, Frazen and Chelios? Is that multiple? Is that 'people are talking'?

If Babs had been fired from say, Florida, would this even be in the news at this point? Welcome to the Hub of the Hockey Universe...
