Primeau will play Thursday, or Friday. Most likely Friday down the street from where I am currently sitting. If he shines and they win, great. If he shines and they lose, great. If he sucks and they win/lose, great.
Either way, he gets a taste of what the NHL is and that's never a bad thing. - hscesq
I agree. I'm glad hey didn't call up Lindgren |

Apparently Kinkaid is liking every tweet criticizing the Habs for putting him on waivers
I get that he's pissed, but I'm not sure that's very bright |

Let's say what we know is true. Cayden Primeau had a really decent training camp. I'm all for giving him a shot. |

If Kinkaid is claimed on waivers, Lindgren will be Price's backup at some point
You can't keep Primeau here warming the bench. |

What if Primeau is good enough and they do a Rask/Halak ratio? He plays 1 game out of 2 in Laval anyway because AHL is all back to backs. Price around 50, Primeau around 30. Both are rested and challenge each other instead of the team relying 100% on Price and plummeting everytime he has one is reccuring slumps. |

Rask was Tim Thomas' backup, Vasilevski was Bishop's back up, Holtby was backup to Neuvirth and Varlamov it didn't ruin their carreer or slow down their development |

Primeau just turned 20, this is his first pro year.
Rask was 22 when he was a backup to Thomas
Holtby was 24 when he was a backup with the Capitals. |

Just talked to Bob Hartley. He says Avangard's president misunderstood him because of bad English: 'I'm getting a million of phone calls from Montreal. It's very sad because they have a coach. No one from the Montreal Canadiens have called me. And I'm happy with Avangard' #Habs

I think the best approach if he does play would be to tell the kid "hey, relax, we aren't making the playoffs anyways, so no pressure, just have fun"

If he's ready and performing age should not matter. Why was it less important for Rask to play more games when he was 22? |

The Islanders goalies: The Islanders became the first team since the 2006-07 San Jose Sharks to alternate starting goalies for each of the first 24 games of the season with Semyon Varlamov and Thomas Greiss. Varlamov started Monday night and made 30 saves in a 4-1 win over the Red Wings in Detroit, improving his record to 8-3-2 record with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage, while Greiss is 10-2-0 with a 2.10 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage. Varlamov ($5 million) and Greiss ($3.333 million) have a combined salary-cap hit of $8.333 million, more than $2 million less than Price’s $10.5-million cap hit.

Might be because he wasn't waiver exempt at that point and they had to keep him in the NHL? |

The Islanders play the Trotz system and their defense is best in the league. |
