How many Tom Wilson style players are in the league?

It's rare to find a guy that can play like that.. So, he's a unicorn

- PatC80

well i don’t know. Ryan reeves? boyle was available. I’m not a hockey expert. that’s why i opine in this forum.

i will say tho... i remember some people in these leaf threads saying that he was overpaid last time he signed an fa contract and that guys like him were obsolete

he has a cup and will compete for the cup again this year

we do not and will not unless they get 1 or 2 guys who can meet or exceed his intensity. Or guys like him...hmm boston cums to mind

Ryan Reaves can't score though. Still, I think he'd be a good guy to have here and wouldn't cost us Nylander

need at least a 3rd with Reeves

Todd Cordell
@ToddCordell
William Nylander led the Leafs in goals, points, primary points, shots on goal, and high-danger chances at 5v5 last month. His on-ice numbers were great across the board, too. That $6.9M cap hit sure looks pretty good right now.

Hutchinson - 7 games has a GSAA -7.52
Kinkaid - 6 games has GSAA -6.53

why?

But once you put Kinkaid on some nice freshly cut leafs grass he will outperform the guy we don’t want on our grass.

That’s how it works.

As much as it is nice to see the team skating harder and winning a few games. I still think they are going nowhere if they make thew playoffs. A pretty good regular season team is the best they can be as currently constructed imo.

It always seems like a good idea to blame all your struggles on your back up goalie when you lose 8 straight..

Maybe Kinkaid just needs a fresh start somewhere else?

1. The Habs aren’t helping out the Leafs

2. Kinkaid sucks anyways as much as Hutch

He's being sent to the AHL to boost his confidence.

I am not making this stuff up. It's the actual reason.

Yeah, see.. This losing streak is all Kinkaid's fault.

We'd be helping each other

Kinkaid won't gain confidence in the AHL if he feels he's good enough for the NHL.
Also, maybe its a chance at a freshererer start?

He did play two of those and COMPLETELY FAILED.

But seriously, the current losing streak has very little to do with goaltenders, despite the stats.

The high danger chances from the front of the net and the number of unblocked one timers have risen by 143% in the last 8 games.

So yeah.

Defensive play is failing here.

Did you miss the part where I said he'd be a good guy to have here? Reaves is not at the same level as Wilson, is what I'm saying..
