Well now they are even in late game collapses. Maybe we will see a normal regulation win the next time.

Yeah the Isles got even.

Isles were the better team overall last night. The seemed not only faster on their feet but were making faster decisions too. Props to them. I think the Pens have shown they are capable of playing better than they did last night this season and hopefully will tomorrow night. Having Sid and Letang in the lineup would certainly help too....but not in the cards.

Yah, payback is a female dog. Gotta love it. Tomorrow should be a fun rematch.

And Tanev pacing for a 20 goal 40 point season isn't something that should be considered minimal. Generating chances is a skill that's as useful as any in this league. It is just that the way he does it is hard to sustain once the body can't recover like it used to. Guys like tanev are great, but their decline is extremely rapid once it starts. Still, what he has done so far shouldn't be knocked.

You know things are going well when Jacko is no longer a topic every tread. Nice 2nd year on the team by the overpaid 3rd line pairing player.

....aaaaand it didn't last long

I saw Galchenyuk trying hard last night. He'll get out of this funk soon. Nice pass to Rust, who's on fire!

hahaha

I liked a lot of what I saw with Galch last night. He looked really engaged and hungry.

ZAR was looking good until Rino jinxed him with a compliment...yup Rino actually complimented him and the universe shifted...then he sh!t the bed a lot.

Rust taking one one of the most blatant and ill-timed penalties I've seen was the start of the downfall. If he didnt take that penalty I think they would of gotten out alive in regulation.

Hard to argue the importance of faceoffs if you watched that 3rd period and OT last night.

5 on 5 maybe not so much but on a PK or in a 3 on 3 OT they are very important.

He made a few simple plays, took the body, went to the net. Sully is really breaking down his game so that he can focus on the smaller things. He will definitely get out of the funk soon. It doesn't help that he is playing with Blandisi. I like a few elements of that kids game, but he isn't an NHL player.

I was seriously about to make that joke today. I should have kept my mouth shut and kept the hate alive.

Yes, Galch played maybe his best game I've seen. He brought energy, had a few impressive shifts. One where he had a solid zone-entry, split two men and maintained control of the puck. Still, with that said, I'm over him. He's not getting himself in scoring situations. He stays on the perimeter and doesn't get in the mix to get in position to get some good shots.

Marino continues to impress me. His quick decision-making with the puck in tight sometimes is crazy impressive. He continue to take more chances offensively to help generate offense and it would be great if that's a part of his game that continues evolves.

Rust has just been awesome. That line needs to remain in-tact when Sid returns.

I personally think that unless there's an opportunity to trade for a TRUE top-six winger, they could move Galchenyuk for futures without missing a beat. If they could fleece someone and get a 2nd rounder then do it.

Yes, I know most will yell at me for putting Horn on the 4th, but they'd be crazy to split the 3rd line up if they're still clicking when everyone is healthy. I still think Horn is one of the odd-men-out. Regardless, I think that lineup is better than WITH Chuck.

I like the way Bjugstad protects the puck and cycles, not to mention he's awesome with zone entries; something Horn is terrible at. I think he'd be a good facilitator for Malkin.

The thing is...they will most likely never all be healthy together. This goes for every team in the league. Depth is important. I see what you're saying about Galch but Im willing to give him until Christmas. I really liked what he showed last night. He's in a contract year, so I think we'll see more of last night than not.

I think the Pens would still have forward depth without him in the lineup and yes, I'm fine with giving him even until the deadline. I'm just hoping if after the next month nothing really happens with him that they start putting out the feelers.

That's a healthy lineup without Galchenyuk and you still have excellent depth and many options.

As you know, in case of Pens this just exists in some video game.

I'm not making the fact that they're missing Sid, Horn, Letang and Bjugstad an excuse since they had a solid lead, but the Islanders are a very good team and when you're missing key players against a very good team things like that are just going to happen.

Look, they're still in the race, they got a point. They just shouldn't have poop the bed against the Devils.

You know if you stopped bringing him up, nobody would even be mentioning him right now. Which is good. But if you keep fishing for people to praise him, that ain't happening.

Its November. They played great against the Devs but the Devs goalie was lights out.

hahaha nope, we don't need to bring up a game the Pens HDSC's were 14-6 over the opposition. A real sh!tting of the bed.

Watching the last 5 minutes was hard on my psyche. The Pens could do nothing. Winning a face off just once might have been all they needed to get the game in regulation. The overtime was worse. Oh well, Thursday can’t come fast enough. Pens need to get that awful performance behind them.

You guys don't know Richard about third period collapses. Come to NJ where the third period is like the third trimester. It's uncomfortable, nobody can move quickly and it ends with baby cries.
