I’ve been thinking Hall ends up in St. Louis as a rental. By the time Tarasenko comes back, the cap won’t matter and the Blues will be ready to try to repeat. |

My personal opinion is he stays in NJ. I can also admit that I don't actually have an inside source and its just my opinion... - uofcguy

I don't give a (frank) about the season total, show me another game where the powerplay discrepancy is 6. You're a squirrely Queefs fan of course you are going to stand up for horrendous officiating when it caters to you every night
Habs have solace knowing they can still grab points against teams being anchored by the league. This is a damn good (frank)ing hockey team - Komisaurus Rex

Sounds about right. |

Why is it such a big deal if he and his agent just come out and say "I'm not signing any in-season contract, I'm going test the UFA market" ! |

I think Hall is 100% GONE!! Why would he stay ?? NJ is acting like they are on the upswing coming out of a rebuild. They definitely are NOT.
Shero’s best bet is to move him for a sizeable pkg. If I were him I would be asking for at least:
- 2020 first round pick
- 2021 second round pick (that becomes a first with an extension OR playoff glory)
- DEFENSE top prospect
- solid young player with control (either term or RFA to be)
In the case of my Bruins, it would be Vaakanainen and Heinen or maybe Grezlcyk.

Mark Stone and Matt Duchene didn't even go for that much at the deadline last year. That's not the kind of package anyone is giving up for a rental. In fact, Mark Stone wasn't even a rental. McPhee told Dorion that he needed Stone to sign an extension if they were going to fork over the package they did. |

Zero chance NJ gets that return for him as a rental. In all likelihood they'll land a 1st and a solid prospect(hopefully a D), and MAYBE another possible conditional piece on top of it at absolute best |

I guess the course of his career will be , deadline rental to an aspiring team for this season, then sign long term at an astronomical amount elsewhere. |

Yes. That’s right. I also write that he should ask for that pkg.
One HUGE difference is that Ottawa pigeon holed themselves as an organization and everyone knew those guys would not extend in Ottawa so they had to be moved. It’s not 100% clear that will happen here even if it’s getting closer to 100% everyday. I’d say Shero gets the draft pick considerations and a decent prospect. He might have to take back salary to make it happen.
Ottawa did manage to get Brannstrom who is a top prospect.
I think Shero can get a decent return. I think he should do it sooner while there are more teams still in the fight. |

I don't see why this always discussed from Hall's side. Let's face it, they're not winning right now with him there, this IS a cap league and he's going to make a fortune, he's hurt too often to truly build around, and he'll be well into decline as their best young players peak. Take the assets and the cap space and move on. |

I could see Hall to STL as a rental nothing more
it would pretty sweet to have a motivated Hall for some more goals in the playoffs and Tarasenko comes back as well that could improve chances to repeat as long as both can stay healthy!

He's gonzo. And good for him, he's earned the right. Nj can always make him an offer in the offseason. |

Yeah I'm not saying they won't get anything for him. But for Stone, with a guaranteed extension, Vegas gave up Brannstrom, Lindberg, and a 2nd. Hall might be more dynamic offensively but Stone is a much better player all around. I just don't think Hall is getting a 1st, plus a top prospect, plus a 2nd, plus a talented young player. |

Have to agree. I think he gets a 1st rounder plus another asset. That plus could be a prospect, pick or decent player but nothing crazy.
Shero tends to get guys to pay up when he trades early and they avoid the deadline insanity and competition. So for example if St. Louis wanted him now he could probably get a nice little package. But the longer this goes the worse it'll likely get. |

Trade him to Calgary now for Lucic and like 3 firsts. Win win, both teams would be happy. - Hunkulese
Why would you ever want to move Lucic? You were so happy after the trade. I thought Lucic was exactly what the Flames needed? |
