The kid is a stud! It is very important to give him 10 games this year tho. I don't see why we don't do that right now, as Tennyson was to blame for some crucial goals yesterday. Smith would be a big help until Carrick can come back and we don't have to burn a year off his entry level deal. Get on it Hynes because Tenny is absolutely murdering our chances at winning. - bikeguy99
Yeah, the problem was Ty couldn't play D. Killing it in a kids league doesn't exactly mean he's the key to tightening up our Blueline.
I think when Carrick comes back we just have another guy who we are disappointed in. For (frank) sake can we get a legit 3rd pairing guy? Shouldn't be that hard to do.
Are we tanking? I feel like we are all getting punked. |

We're going to end the season slightly below .500 and get a crappy draft pick. |

Because Taylor Hall will have been dealt and we have no Draft Karma?!
I keep thinking of this:

Disappointing. Particularly the fact that we have to continue with the same coaches like they are going to somehow turn this around. Just watch another year slip away..... |

I have been an eternal optimist since the start of this season, but after 14 games it is becoming more and more obvious it's not a talent / growth & learning issue but more of a system / coaching issue. Crash and burn, Maverick. |

Great, those are the right moves IMO. Not thrilled about Mueller but Tennyson has looked awful the last couple games. I wonder who they put on the fourth line in Rooney's space. I'd probably go with Zajac or Coleman, though wouldn't be shocked to see them throw Zacha in that spot.
Hall - Hughes - Palmieri
Gusev - Hischier - Bratt
Boqvist - Zajac - Coleman
Wood - Zacha - Simmonds
Probably not my ideal lineup, but considering how often Hynes likes to throw that fourth line out there it would maybe not be the worst thing. - MannySilvers
I like your line-ups but I would even it out even more, we all know Goose and Hughes shouldn't be together and Hall should be with Hughes so...
Zacha - Nico - Gusev ....Goose is protected by two very good defensive forwards
Hall - Hughes - Bratt .... Hall and Hughes have good chemistry and with Bratt makes a very good 2nd line
Boqvist - Zajac - Palmieri .... Palms here evens out the top 3 lines better and maybe gets Zajac and Boqvist going offensively
Wood - Coleman - Simmonds .... Coleman is better then Rooney so this line should be better (faceoffs worry me here but if Coleman can handle it we'll be fine)

This line scares me. No question the offensive fire power is there but Hughes and Bratt are both lacking defensively and it’s not like Hall has been Mr. Responsible lately. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Tenneyson is out. Just I'm not getting my hopes up with Mueller either. - Pomegrant
I’m about to type something I never thought I would.
We really need Carrick back. |

Lines tonight according to Corey Masisak:
Hall-Nico-Palms
Bo-Hughes-Bratt
Coleman-Zacha-Goose
Wood-Zajac-Simmonds

Ref is right there and doesn't see their guy spin around elbow Vats in the face. are you kidding me? |

Another waived off nico goal.. the second. Why did McDavid count early this year that caused us a win but these nico ones dont? |

It's good they missed that but caught the very slight hook on hughes. We need tk eliminate that stuff, player safety is a hugh concern |

Goal waved off for no reason, player injured without a call, goals in off of one of our guys. Pretty much sums up this season. |

I’m at the point just blow the roster up. Build around Nico and Jack. Everything else doesn’t matter. |

I really don’t understand how this team could be so bad at passing. |

I tend to agree. I would say zacha too and have the elite shutdown 3c. Everyone else can go. Hall first. Turnover machine. Real sick and tired hearing about him wanting to be on winning team when he contributes a ga a game due to 5 turnovers. I used to defend Hynes but he needs to go as well. We have more talent then alot of teams. Shouldn't be this bad,. Loved Cole man but my man has been mia since the opener. |

This is pathetic. This team has no heart and just gives up when poop doesn’t go their way. |

The problems beyond the defense and goaltending:
1. Hall looks disengaged. I really want him to re-sign and stay, but the way he’s playing now says “I’m out”. I hope Shero can get some good pieces in a Hall trade, but I highly doubt it.
2. The coaching. How many times must they try the back-pass-slingshot to enter the offensive zone on a power play? It’s so predictable. Dump and chase for a change. Also no cohesive lines. The lines should’ve been solved by the 5th game. That’s why there’s pre-season! Also, cut this fast supportive crap. Hasn’t worked for 3 years! The team burns out after the first period.
3. Accountability. Hynes doesn’t hold players accountable. I’ve seen terrible passes up the middle in the defensive zone. I’ve seen blind backhand passes in the offensive zone which starts a rush the other way. Players don’t shoot. Hynes, hold the veterans accountable.
4. Leadership. Greene, Zajac, and Hall are terrible. They don’t get into their teammates’ faces. I don’t even know what kind of guidance they’re providing for the kids.
5. Size and strength. I know the team is smaller but they’re getting pushed around easily. Tampa is a small team and they don’t get pushed around as easily. I don’t know if they need more strength or a way to hold on to pucks while skating.
Time to layout next year’s team:
Zacha-Hischier-Bratt
Gusev-Hughes-Palmieri
Boqvist-McLeod-Bastian
Wood-Zajac-Coleman
FA or trade-Subban
Butcher-Severson
Smith-Vatanen (resigns because there’s no Hall) |

It just takes a couple plugs to ruin you puck possession and turn it around. Rooney, Wood, Simmonds, Tennyson all have terrible passing % that would have them shipped to the AHL on most contenders. Gusev is no better, but the guy has a serious offensive upside. And PK, if you aren't going to produce offensively, learn how to play D!!! Gotta say, he has been a massive disappointment thus far. Just a shadow of his former self. |

5. False. size and strength are non-factors in the NHL, clearly. That's why you don't consider them when discussing a player's on-ice attributes. pah. dummy.
The lines shouldn't have had a dramatic shift from what we've been doing. We were playing better.. then Bratt went down and Gusev came in. They decided to swap Hischier and Hughes.. for some reason. then moving Zacha around? Keep them how they were.
Hall-Hughes-Palmieri
Zacha-Hischier-Bratt
Coleman-Zajac-Gusev
Wood-try Boqvist here-Simmonds
Those lines give us the best chance to win, period. Gusev, Bratt and Hughes are all on separate lines and all should be able to contribute offensively without killing us on the other half of the game of hockey. Zacha and Nico are smart enough to be productive together. Coleman can provide enough jam to work for pucks to get to Gusev, while Zajac covers Gusev's rear.
