Hawks are a joke even if they win. They try so hard to lose. Don`t fool yourself they are finished! - GlennL
Wasn’t pretty.
But 2-0-1=5 points the last three games against teams playing well and in the top three of their respective divisions.
4-2-2=10 in their last 8 games.

De Haan is a professional defenseman, liking him a lot. - Angotti
Nice to see somebody post something positive. Yes #44 is a very good defensive defenceman. |

I really don’t care what it looks like. They are currently getting points. Each team will bring a different challenge. TOR has put up big shot numbers against a lot of teams. We beat them tonight. Take the positive, work on the negative and move forward. |

Robin Lehner has faced 30+ SOG in 8 of 9 starts this year. He has a .940 save% in those 8 games.

Someone said earlier that he's been the best FA signing in a long time. Would have to agree. |

Great job by Saad on that last goal and glad they held on.
Reminds me of last year when the Hawks would go down 3 in the first and then we'd have the moral victory of outplaying the other team the rest of the way. I'm glad it was the other way around today. |

As I've said before I'll take 50 shots against with defenders to help the goalie rather than 10 odd man advantages or breakaways.
Refs were generous with the last 2 penalty calls

Robin Lehner's 53 saves are the most in the league yet this season. 6th-most in the league over the past five seasons. |

I don’t understand. We all knew this was going to be a mediocre team before the season started. They are playing sloppy in their own zone and are apparently quite streaky offensively... just like we expected. Now they get a win against one of the best offensive teams in the league, and everyone is lamenting HOW we got the 2 pts? |

I don't either, especially when we are fielding AHL dmen on the ice. We were giving up 4 goals a game to mediocre teams last year, they just have to learn how to put a team away.

Thanks. These are not your 2013 Hawks, not even close, but they are much better than last year, and I’m enjoying watching them grow. Lots of new players, it takes time to get acclimated to new teammates. They will be in the chase, there is definitely opportunity to improve, we need to tighten up and not allow so many shots in goal. Go Hawks! |

no marner and they still dominate in the ozone with almost 60 shots - bogiedoc
Difficult to see us achieve even .,500 record when we routinely face an unaccetable high amount of shots each game. Even performing like last season's second half team is probably high expectations .....not counting on such success this time.
So pray for a good lottery pick. Who can say for sure in the other big development which is of course Colliton's future |

If Murphy comes back that'll help. If Gus is traded and Boqvist stays up i believe that makes us a better team already, Keith, deHaan and Maata, pretty solid |

Boqvist ended up with an 8-2 advantage in scoring chances, the best on the team. |

I didn't get to see the st two periods. Did Boqvist look like he belonged on the ice with those talented Leaves? |

The NHL would sell a lot more tickets if all of the games were like tonight's. Offensive superstar s like Kane, Mathews, Tavares in action; great goaltending by Lehner, powerplays; wide open action; kids like Bovquist and Dach getting their intro to big time hockey.
Game reminded me of the 1987 Canada Cup between Canada and Russia where every game was 6-5.
That's before somebody invented the trap and the analytics gurus decided what is good hockey. |

From Natural Stat Trick, all 60 minutes:
Corsi TOR 78 - CHI 55
Scoring Chances TOR 41 - CHI 33
High Danger SC CHI 14 - TOR 13
Looked like a game from the 80's. |

I’d like them to find a way to keep Boqvist when Murphy returns.
Keith, Boqvist, de Haan, and Murphy should stay. Seabrook isn’t going anywhere so Gus or Maatta would be the odd man out. |
