So we stay like this and hope for a miracle? We’ve been out 3 of last 4 years. I still think Lehkonen & Byron has to be replaced and we need a good LD that can play with Weber (I liked Mete-Petry) which would put Chariot on the 3rd
Ok maybe there is too many holes lol
For Lafreniere then? - MONSTERSofMETALZ
Well, they could start by plugging a couple of holes (code). |

Didn’t end the way he wanted I bet.
I hope the kids play more and gives them better experiences for years to come |

Making the playoffs would be a bonus.
Team is in a retool/rebuild. I would say he's on track with all the kids in the system and young players already playing on the team. |

except that it's not what he said at the golf tournament. he clearly said the objective is to make the playoffs, that with the experience acquired last year they should be better... blablabla

Well, the objective might be there, but they should be ok missing them once again.
The new «plan» started a year ago. Molson should be patient. With a retoll/rebuild, you look at the big picture. Not if the team sneak in the playoffs or not at the end of the season.
Bergevin probably has at least 3 years again.

Nobody said a rebuild was easy. It wasn't for your hawks at the time. |

you're either going for it or not.
if they rebuild and are ok with missing the playoffs, you trade Price, Weber, Petry...
if you keep them you go for it and trade a few kids ans picks to make this team good enough now and for the next 2-3 years.
if you wait for the kids to be dominant players, the above 3 vets will be too old to take part in a cup run

Primeau might be ready in 2 years, if everything goes well. Keep Price until then I guess.
Not sure who will replace Weber AND Petry, so keep drafting defesemen I guess. And maybe start focusing on the right side. |

I'm cool with a rebuild a missing the playoffs, but just say so.
that's not what he said.
I think both Price and Weber will retire as Habs, long after MB gets fired |

This is so what I think. So where are we? Are we rebuilding or fight for a playoff spot cause right now I see ourselves in the No Man lands once again.
Either we go for an high draft pick again or we trade for a playoff hunt.
Our vets won’t have any value at all in a few years so either we trade now or we fight.
Bergy needs a plan 🤷🏼♂️

Weber will be gone.
Price won't, that contract is unmovable - in salary and nmc. |

He went public with the retool. Maybe they want some vets around the kids. Look at what the Oilers went trough. A few vets here and there can be a good thing.
Thing is, even if you want to trade Price and/or Weber, is there a market worth mentionning? If not, why bring it up?

I think they do the best they can to ice a competitive team in the off season but they're not really good at it. See how the season goes and buy or sell a little a trade deadline and draft as well as they can at the spot that lands them. |

Price wants to win a cup. It won't be here. If a team would bite, he would waive. For the right team.
Habs can retain some$$ and/or take a salary back.
But untill Primeau is ready, he stays here, I would think. |

2 very good points
they are probably worth more to the Habs than what they could get in return
so, case closed.
it's a rebuild, we'll miss the playoffs, hopefully win the lotery, and start all over next year.
unless Price gets tired of it and asks MB for a trade.... |
