Cant afford him
Or anyone

Don't mention back up goalies or taxes, or we will get 8 unpleasant pages of why we should trade for Doughty,

wel see - season is young and 1 injury can really hurt that team IMO (they depend so heavily on 1 line)
- Lucas.Neilson

As we saw last year, theyre not bad without Bergeron for 16 games.
I keep hearing theyre old, 1 injury away etc etc. Been hearing it for a while.
But they keep on trucking and winning.
Good players in a good system.

We'll see.
But fack the bruins

Well Matt's brother plays for Ottawa, so he can probably bring the rivalry with him

Yeah because the leafs can’t trade away salary.

There’s never ever guys like Ceci involved in trades to make deals work because the top teams always have so much salary.

Do we need to go back to past deals to show you swapped contracts and cap hits?

Not at all.

You responded the to Lucas saying the leafs could trade for Lehner at the TDL.

You said “can’t afford him”

It’s pretty clear that teams maneuver around cap problems at the TDL...at the 60 game mark there isn’t much money being thrown around. It’s all cap.

teams not only eat cap, but the season is almost done so this is about the ONLY way they can add - and they will.

Really?

Ffs just look at every mid to larger salary trades from the last decade from good teams.

There is almost always contracts and salary being swapped to make it work.

If a backup goaltender is that big of an issue, it really should've been addressed in the off season so that Andersen could get some games taken off his plate. A 5 million dollar insurance policy at the trade deadline isn't what you want to be doing cap gymnastics for when you're looking to make a run. Just my two cents

I think we need Spezza, we need the C depth..

I don't want to see Hyman taking faceoffs against Bergeron in the playoffs ever again

The TSN guys were pretty sure Spezza would be waived.

I would be waiving Shore over Spezza. Shore is winning faceoffs at a 60% rate right now. Through 98 draws this year. His entire career before now he has a 50.3% faceoff rate. I wouldn't gamble on a 12 game sample to claim a guy is great on face/offs.

While he can play on the PK, he hasn't been (He's behind Marner, Kapanen, Moore and Mikheyev in F PK deployment, and Hyman will play into that mix when he returns). So what are Shore's strengths?

Spezza is definitely off to a poor start in the face off circle for us at 46.8%, but just last year he was @ 58.2%, and 55.8% the year prior.

I recognize that he not the Jason Spezza that he was, but he is still capable of contributing offensively and improving the offensive capabilities of a 4th line.

the greatest magic happened when Carolina won the cup.

take a look at those deadline deals. (this is long ago) but that was one hell of a deadline rampage.
