If Morin is seriously injured again, it may spell his doom.

Wouldn't go that far. He's been progressing at a nice rate but it's an ongoing adjustment and there will be times when he takes a backward step. Last night was one of those. Needs to get back on the horse against Hershey on Saturday. Can't play with pace a few shifts a game or for one period. Needs that gear consistently.

Poor Sam, hope the kid is ok, he just can’t a get a break. If he is ok, and when the conditioning stint ends, just waive the kid already. He deserves to play somewhere, whether in LHV or, in the unlikely event he is claimed, another organization.

Good lord, kid has one bad game after a 7 game point streak and some folks want to write him off already?? Unreal.

Agreed. Either play him in the NHL (or trade Hagg and keep Morin as the 7D), trade him for best offer, or waive him.

Would suck to lose him after the time investment (don't care about his draft position), but the kid's basically stuck in purgatory.

Yup, he’s obviously a total bust. Should swap him for a 6th round pick while they still can.

Perhaps Criscuolo gets a look with Flyers this season.

Fingers crossed for Morin. It took me a few minutes with those jerseys to realize he just wasn’t there. The look close up is very nice, but I couldn’t read any names or numbers on screen.

Morin was a wasted pick. Shouldn't reach at 13, later in the round like o'brian take a shot. Morin a project from day 1 and it just isn't going to work out. The way saint Ronnie wanted to build the team needed much more of a sure thing.

Tough break for Morin. Maybe it’s been the lack of playing time or whatever. But to my untrained eye, he has not been anywhere near the best D man on the ice for the last 3 Phantoms games. Injured or not I don’t see the maximum of another 3 games rehabbing him into an NHL defensemen. I think they have to waive him. I doubt he will be claimed. But you never know. If he is it may be best. I just don’t see a realistic future with the Flyers.

Morin was an 11th pick drafted by Holmgren. But you are right. A project from day one. If he was drafted in the 2 nd round he would be long gone.

if he is claimed so what as he clearly doesn't have a role for the foreseeable future with the flyers.

I personally was hoping for Pulock with that pick. Word was Montreal wanted him also, but they picked at the back end.

Nine Inch Nails really hasn't put out a good son since 1997.

You do know that "Saint Ronny" was not the GM that drafted Morin, dont you?

Of course you do

Also always ignored in those moronic hindsight evals is that the NHL had not really started the shift into the way its played now....all skilled lines, all transition, forward moving dmen across the board.

It was still very much a place for Pronger replicas, and Dan Girardi Types

Tough news on Morin. Hopefully it's minor and he can continue to play actual games. Frost, like all young players, is going to have rough nights and as long as he's learning from it, it's par for the course...huge upside on this kid, just going to take some time.

Morin was considered a project when drafted, safe to say the project didn't work out. Don't draft a project at 11, draft a player.

Hextall was assistant GM though in 2013. Certainly he had some say since he was being groomed to take over. Homer would have obviously had the final say but Hexy was involved I believe.

drafting isn't an exact science....players develop at different time frames....Morin's in ability to stay healthy has been his biggest set back. I still think there's a decent physical defenseman in there that can play at the next level with a bit more game experience. Guess we'll see.
