Only got to watch the first, but that 4th line looked pretty dominant. On another note, two weeks of b2b's and then huge gaps between games sucks donkey balls.

How can the Official that is IN the corner not call interference and illegal touch on Smith? It was his pass that started the play that gave Leon the goal. Officiating is trash.

I have never been a fan of the no touch zone, takes away from guys like Smith, but if the rule exists...YOU HAVE TO CALL IT!!!

Nice positive article. Not sure where the complainers are hiding.

Embarrassing performance by our 1st line but that tends to be the nature of our top guys in matinee games- especially ones on the East coast. Can't believe they managed to win, but goalies can do that. Good game by your boys; particularly that 4th line!

How rare is it to see another team's fan single out our fourth line to compliment?

So the first and fourth line seem set. Now to figure out the middle two lines and where or if players like Galchenyuk and Bjugstad fit.

Galchenyuk and Bjugstad definitely new a few games to get back in the swing of things.

I thought Bjugstad was mediocre, but flashed some signs he's getting back. I like how he's able to carry and protect the puck using his size.

It may be rare but it's a pretty easy call after watching today. They played against every Oil line and played well. Including almost 5 mins against Mcd's line. Great game for them.

Unfortunately we got the good Mike Smith today. Didn't get in his face at all and when he settles in he can be a game changer.

According to Natural Stat Trick the Pens only had seven rebounds. Not good enough.

We really only have two guys who are willing to screen the goalie, Hornqvist and Rust. I haven't seen enough of Kahun to know if he works that area or not but I am sure we will be getting a look Monday. I do know in the Philly game he wasn't afraid to mix it up in the paint.

Bjugstad on wing could be the answer. He could be used with McCann and they can both take draws. Even Malkin for that matter.

I would have much rather have seen some enthusiasm, hard work and tangible offense than a good chart some dude in a diaper or furry outfit cooked up in his mothers basement. Simon sucked but I guess we will just wait until the pens beat Ottawa 8-1 to praise his2 point performance. The power play is horrendous without a Hornqvist’s in front and just a lack luster performance in general. Don’t get me started on that 3 on 3 anti hockey circus that ended the game.

I thought the Pens had a lot of “not so dangerous” shots today. We dominated play but didn’t crash the net enough. All in all we deserved the win but F’d up after Letang missed the net on a 2 on 1 and the puck went back our way and Draisaitl scored. Not much Galchenyuk could do on that play, only a penalty shot maybe?

Lucic is really out for a rip this year. Don’t go near Calgary’s goalie. Love it.

I cant recall many games last season where they lost but I wasn't too negative about it because of their overall play and effort. I do however remember a lot of games they won last season that I really thought they shouldn't of.

This season has been refreshing to me so far.
The games have been mostly very entertaining no matter the results.Their play and process has been very good for the most part. Hopefully they keep it going.

Our commitment to defense is the big difference. From the games I have watched the forwards are forcing plays a little quicker than last year. They are actually engaging in board battles. And when we win a board battle we are quick to transfer to offence.

Lots to like about the Pens despite the loss. Better a western team steal the point. Boston on Monday will be a good test.

This was most scoring chances and high danger chances they have had in a single game. It was an @$$ whoopin. The fact that puck wasn't going in was so frustrating, but that might have been their best game of the season. They were everywhere.

He just shouldn’t be in the NHL.

What was that poop he said in the handshake line a few years back? It was (frank)ed up, but I can’t remember.

Edit: He told Dale Weise he’s going to kill him next year lol

There was nothing tough about it. He absolutely should be suspended, but he won't be because our department of player safety is literally the antithesis of its name.

Hornqvist not at practice and hasn’t played since leaving the game in the third period.

Rust taking his spot. Kahun on the third.

Dumo also absent from practice. Riikola taking is spot.
