so your reasoning for 2nd line sobotka is he got out of his zone that one time
- robz228

What if I told you his calming influence is what is leading to the other two forwards being able to jump up more on the offensive side.

I didnt want to say this but.... You know we are 8-1-1 right? So you would rather have any other forward and be 2-7-1? its along season theres a trade deadline, everything will be ok.

Plus what RW has "deserved" to play that spot over him 5v5?

ok and im sure Sheary is your answer.... Well im not taking Casey away form him

He had 2 goals and 2 assists. What kind of expectation do you have? He literally had something to do with every single goal scored. He won more than half of his faceoffs and was a +2 in 22 mins of ice time. How much more can you realistically ask for?

i'm not complaining, obviously. i just don't think it was one of those "eichel games" that he does where he dominates every shift.

in fact i'd say his best shifts last nights didnt result in any points

Fun fact. Mittelstadt through the first five games played an average of 10:02 a night. The last five games he has played 12:53. So he's slowly getting more ice time.

It's hard to score points playing those kind of minutes, and he's not on the first PP either. If he can make Krueger play him 14-15 minutes a night, he could be like a 55-60 point center. To get there though he has to prove he is reliable defensively, as he would be taking minutes from the GLO line. Plus 6 is a good start to that. So was the backcheck last night.

Good post.
If there was a benefit to his 0lay last year, I believe it to be that he had to learn and execute on the 200' aspect of his game. It was quite evident to me that he focused on that last year and it came at the expense of his offensive production.
This year he seems to be putting g it together better...which I think is largely attributed to the attack style play they have in the Ozone and neutral zone.

That's my only question. Is Sobotka too high? Yes he is. But who deserves it over him right now.

I'm sure we'll hear E rod but I can't get behind that at all.

when theres nothing rational you can point to to why he's contributing, just say he has a calming influence!

ID(o)GAF because they have a 2nd liner on pace for 10 points and 1,000,000 offensive possessions ruined

I know trading with Toronto is Taboo.

But a trade surrounding McCabe for Kapanen could benefit both sides.

I feel like buffalo may have to add though.

Let's get Andreas Athanasiou. The 2nd line would really be cooking with gas

You know who has a calming influence? Johansson. When he has the puck on his stick you are almost assured he's going to make the correct play with it.

You know who's the opposite of that? Take a gander.

Only answer id accept is Sheary but i want him with Casey SO do you want
Sobo-Mitts-Sheary?

in the grand scheme how much different is that then the lines as is?

The deadline will bring us at least 1 high end forward

First he was the gritty tough guy, creating space, now he hasn’t hit anyone in a few games so he’s a calming influence.

Next he’s fantastic in the room

OK. You have my attention now.

I'd get behind that. Perhaps that slots Vlad appropriately down.

Who do you put on the top line to take Rhino's spot?

Clearly you've never played a high level sport. Do you honestly think that mental fatigue on having to worry if your linemate/d pair is going to f it up?

My unpopular opinion is put goalof as a pp specialist and bury him on the 4th 5v5

I know of at least 3 times on the shoot once side that Sobo got the puck below the red line and safely and easily got the puck out of the zone.

When the puck is on his stick i dont have to think oh god oh god please dont f up
