Guest Writer: Detroit exhibits frailty in loss to Anaheim

Detroit was definitely the better of the two teams for the first two periods. It was a lot of frantic skating and poor puck possession by the Ducks up until the 3rd. I was actually expecting OT after the tie. It was an interesting game.

One line team loses when the one good line can't score. Shocking.

Is Duff gone?

This was a good game for the most part. Detroits’ lack of depth did stand out as the game went on, but they were in this thing the entire time. Agree with some of the other posters, this was a good write up from someone that may have actually watched the game instead of just regurgitating box scores with Corsi ratings, Fenwicks, and WAR.

I thought it was a snorefest. Gibson was solid. Wings hit a few goal posts. Awesome goal by Hronek. That offside goal which was called back (cheesy) seemed to deflate them. Howard the Sieve did what he always does. Crap the bed in the third period. They only have AA to give them secondary scoring. Glendening is playing on the second line FFS.

I was hoping for OT. I felt Anaheim outplayed Detroit in the second, but that final flurry of shots leading to the Hronek goal was intense. He’s really coming into his own.

Painfully obvious that we need someone to step up. I felt like Ehn-Erne-Filppula had a strong forecheck, but no finish. Well, there’s some Finnish, but no finish. You know what i mean....

Good Grief... I didn't even realize Glendening was on the 2nd line. UGGHHH !!

Blashill = Moron. Considering LG scores 50% of his goals into empty nets.. that is terrible asset management. Guessing it was a "reward" because he scored one in the first game this season.
