Some thoughts:

Brandon Crawley made a bone-headed play which led to Devils goal. However, I watched him closely for rest of game and I thought he was able to put it behind him and have a good game. He will be cut soon, but I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

Hope Panarin and Kakko are not hurt.

Shesty is not yet ready to unseat Georgi as our backup.

I'm still sporting wood from watching that power play!

Despite all of the good things that we saw tonite, it was still a loss. We as fans have to understand that there will be many nights like this in the upcoming season and accept it as we watch this team grow...

Great game to watch you guys hit so many posts lol. I thought Kakko looked great on the pp and same with Panarin. I actually thought it was cool that Panarin scored and then Gusev answered back it will be cool to watch these two Russians flex their skill against each other!

defensively I'm willing to give Skjei-Trouba some time to gel

Trouba looked great at times offensiviely

Kakko was incredible, if he looks this good at 18 years old, pre-season game #1, I can't even imagine what's to come

I do kind of want Panarin-Zib-Kakko to stay together

Grant McKegg's nickname is "Kegger" so he should make the team just for that

Rangers PP was impressive.

For over a year now I've been telling people Kakko reminds me of Jagr when he was his age.

After seeing Kakko on that side wall controlling the PP last night, he reminds me of Jagr even more!

Not saying he'll have the same career as Jagr, but very excited to have a Ranger that can at least draw comparisons to him.

Going to be very special watching him grow in the coming years.

I thought Fox was the most impressive of your new guys and had some outstanding plays. Trouba was offensively clearly skilled but defensively had some rough moments.

PP was sick but I was expecting more trouble at even strength from your lineup.

It’s preseason so whatever - but it was also much better hockey then the last time we played last season. While I enjoyed the Ranger and Devils fans chanting ‘we both suck’ together at that game, I am glad we are both improved and can get back to hating each other.

See you Friday.

I think we saw why I think in December that we could be a bottom 5 team in the league. This whole thing is going to take time to get going with so many new guys to the team and almost 1/2 of the team being rookies or 2nd/3rd year players. We will take out lumps early, but as we also saw, once we figure it out the league better watch out.

I think we are gonna score for sure

personally I'd leave Kakko with Zib and Panarin, but I am certainly looking forward to seeing Kakko playing with Kreider and Chytil

lots of excitement

I think putting him on the second line will get him better matchups. He will also make that line better. Zib and Panarin should suffice with Buch. But they did all look good together.

and then the 3rd line I'd have Lemieux with Andersson and Kravstov

to me, the top 9 forwards have taken shape already

That is a solid 3rd line. You could argue that Kravtsov is too talented for that duty but it gives them three skilled lines that can potentially score.

I am still high on Andersson. I think he might be the surprise of the season.

My surprise of the season is MDW becomes a Flyers fan by mid December to follow his boy Hayes

No, even if it means you stay around I would prefer Kreider remains a Ranger.

He won a couple of foot races. I believe he even beat Nico into the corner once. If his speed is actually improved he won't have any issues fitting in.

Alright,

We need a 10th for fantasy. We also need to set a draft date/time.

Anyone want to join?

lol

I hope they prove me wrong. I'm just realistic in that this is going to take half a season to gel. I did say before that I think the 2nd half will be good for us.
