Ponchos, it's genius! Bummer about the rain, but I'm sure your team will cobble together some decent wines anyway. Couple years back I got to do a tour, vertical tasting and dinner at Pichon Baron in Pauillac. Christian Seely told us a story during the tasting about 2013, how the rains were so bad, that as you walked down the rows the grapes smeared on your pants. They picked anyway, made about half as much wine as normal, and it was still pretty damn good.

I’m not worried too much about quality, we can make really good wine from these grapes, it just means more work. Anything we pick in weather like this will have to be babied along the entire way through. And we can’t space out our picks. We’re getting these little day and a half windows where we have to process everything that’s ready, and then 4 days where it’s pissing rain and we’re looking for something to do.

Josi signed a 7 year deal for 4 AAV. He's in his last season of it. Cap percentage was 6.22. That same cap percentage this year should have him making around 5 million.

Long term deals always look bad in the first couple of years. #1 D have started to make over 10 million a year. #2 D won't be far behind.
