Thanks for the wraps Bill.

The Islanders put out a bigger NHL cast last night compared to a seasoned AHL team the Flyers put out. Was surprised they almost won that game.

I will say the Germ looks pretty good. And from comments from the organization they were pretty high on him before these games. Think he in the race. NAK looked decent also. None of the older vets fighting for a forward spot looked good to me. Farabee is having a hell of a camp.

Bigras played a good game. Surprised me. Hagg was Hagg. A decent defender. Travis a little sloppy but played a ton of minutes and was effective

It will be interesting to watch things unfold.

Out of curiosity, had it been a male doing the play by play, would you have pointed out that it was a male doing the play by play, Cam?

I thought the female broadcaster was doing color? I noticed she was disturbingly monotone too. The male play by play guy wasn’t much better. Very dreary presentation. Made me appreciate the hometown team.

Ghost and Rubstov for Laine if you had the cap room? I know it wouldn't work financially just throwing it out there. I don't need to hear it will never happen just seeing what it might take to land Laine in a perfect world as it is a slow day in here!

Missed last night's game do to comcast monopolizing viewings. I wish I had known streaming services can have the channel but games will still be blacked out when on nbcsnp+.
I would have just kept comcast tv.

I thought Braun looked much better than i had anticipated on Mon. Much more mobile then I envisioned.

Zamula was very impressive. I realize it was one game against other prospects/AHL guys but if he continues to play like that he'll climb those prospect polls quickly.

Morin looked decent, not as great as he did a few years ago but still looked good even though I believe he was out for 2 goals against.

Farabee was buzzing as usual, played a strong game.

Not feeling the Stewart love although this team will lack toughness.

Hayes was really good, like 49m good but lets hope he can continue playing like that throughout the season and for most of that contract.

I did some research on this a while ago. You might be able to get local Comcast sports with SlingTV. I don’t think it’s too expensive. $15 or $20/ mo. maybe? Or you can get a VPN in a state that doesn’t block Flyers games and get NHL.com. I think VPN is pretty cheap. Maybe $10/mo. Google it. There are ways around the block outs.

Cheapest way around everything is a VPN. They take a minute to set up but end up being worth it if you've got a sports package that blacks out home games imo.

You can get NBC Sports Philadelphia with Hulu?

Thanks everyone for the advice re VPN. I'll give that a try. @ 2real: does were you able to watch Tues game on Hulu without VPN?

Fubo and Youtube I believe are the only services that have the plus channel (it appears to be worthless unless you use a VPN possibly). Fubo does not have NHL Network, not sure about Youtube).

PS vue has both NBCSN Philly and NHL Network but not plus.

Sling has NBCSN but its not Philly. Seems like a odd national channel that focuses on sports other than the 4 major US sports.

Thanks again for the VPN tips. I know you can find streams also but I have to dvr due to schedule half of the time.

I have YouTube TV with NBC Philly sportsnet and Philly+. Didn't have any issues last year but the rookie game and Tues game was blocked out. No issue on Monday.. hope this doesn't keep happening during the regular season.

Dont know if there is history between Gabriel and Ross but I know in the two years Gabriel was in NJ he asked everything that could skate to fight and no one would go him. He asked Matt Martin a few times and he wouldnt go so I imagine Ross was just thinking so you wanna go someone lol.

You can tell Gabriel is a tough customer but he is so brutal at skating every time he ties up with an opponent he falls or gets tripped up.

When it was all said and done he had a decent fight with Ferland and a decent fight with Lucic but outside of those he fell down before he could start so it was very frustrating to watch but he will grab a hold of anyone if he is out there its just a matter of if he will stay up on his skates or not lol if he does he can fight but if not he just sucks.

It would take more to get Laine. I personally would not pursue Laine.

I've had Hulu live for three seasons now. I have never had a regular season or playoff game blacked out for the Flyers. Perhaps since it was the New York feed the game on Tuesday was blacked out. IDK

Side note: Hulu's customer service is the best in the biz.

Hagg's already in midseason form.

Why pass to the open guy on the left boards when you can send a muffin up the middle directly to the opposition?

The problem is he held onto the puck too late. By the time he went around the net and collected himself, there was a stick entering the passing lane to the boards. That was probably why he didn't go there. Either way, if you have to choose between passing through sticks up the middle or along the boards, you should choose the boards every time. He should be moving that puck up to the board winger as soon as his stick is around the net. He takes 3 more strides or so before moving the puck. This is a routine NHL play that has to be made and it was an egregious turnover leading to a scoring chance against.
