What was the deal with Gabriel in that "fight".

Looked like he didn't want to go.

Ross Johnston looked like it was personal.

Do they have a history?

Doesn’t appear to be any camp darlings to Vorobyevs level of play last year in camp.

Big Buff pondering his options and considering retirement. Wow the Jets could be screwed with their defense

Interesting that Sushko has played twice, but no games for Strome or Laberge so far.

Its a vast Left Wing and Right Wing conspiracy!

Though I guess Laberge is a center.

Joacim "At Least I'm not Martin Houle" Eriksson. Was always hoping he'd make it work.

Wondering if that is to determine whether he is an ECHL or AHL placement.

Nah, Laberge is a RW. He's way down the pecking order now, though.

I'm not saying I hope Gabriel is hurt...but I am saying I'd be happy if he has no chance, or any circumstance that reduces his chance, of cracking the NHL roster.

If Gabriel is hurt and they really need a guy to play 5 minutes a night, they could bring Jay Rosehill out of retirement. Party like it's 2013 again and Homer is still GM.

Speaking of Jay Rosehill, I remember reading somewhere that at the time he was one of the fastest skaters on the Phantoms. I wonder if that were true or was someone being sarcastic?

No. He won the fastest skater (no pucks) competition at camp his final year here.

You know who was one of the Flyers' fastest skaters of the last 25 years? Shawn Antoski. It was his combo of size, skating, athleticism and toughness that made him a 1st round pick by Vancouver in 1990. The Canucks hoped the game development would come along with the raw abilities it at the pro level, but it never really did and he ended up in an enforcer role. Years ago, a recently retired Keith Acton (one of the NHL's best skaters of his era, by then a Flyers assistant coach) challenged Antoski to a skating race. The Flyers players all put their bets down. Anton won.

Ever see Zac Rinaldo in practice? He loved to do fancy puckhandling stuff and could zoom around the ice. Couldn't apply it and take it into a game, of course, but the nascent skill was there.

If I remember correctly, Eric Wellwood was also one of our faster skaters before suffering his career-ending injury?

Not that surprised as back to back games for him a little tough right now I suppose

I watched most of the game and Stewie was Ok. Who I thought played really well was Laughton and Raffl. Rubstov and Hart had a nice game too.

Shame about him. He was never going to be a high-powered offensive player, but he seemed like a guy who would be able to find a job (or at least push for one) every year as a bottom-6 player. I mean, if Harry Zolnierczyk can find work...
