Carol Schram: Canucks hope prospect camp will set the stage for good main camp showings The Vancouver Canucks wrapped up their prospect camp on Monday with all players healthy and read to participate in main camp this weekend in Victoria. Plus, Petrus Palmu news and the RFA logjam is starting to crack.

I didn't see camp but just from other peoples highlights. It's Olli and Quinn in a class of their own.

There are a lot of Van prospects not at camp

From last blog. I've got a big axe that I use when I want to chop down a tree. No need for a chainsaw

Thanks Carol,

Boeser will sign after camp opens.

If they were close, it would already be signed.

Took my son to the Prospects session on Sunday.

No, Hughes and Juolevi didn't stand out as being in a class of their own. Hughes did have a couple of moments in the battle drills where his ability to stop, turn and execute moves was noticeable. Didn't see Juolevi do anything exceptional, however it was just drills so you can't take too much from it.

That Latvian goalie they just signed couldn't stop anything. Nearly every shot went through him on some sequences and he was clearly off his game. We felt sorry for him actually.

Getting excited about some pre-season and to see some guys on the ice! Hopefully, OJ stands out and we have to send someone else down. He'll prob go to the AHL though and be the first call up after an injury.

The way prospects camp was designed explains why would be hard to see players stand out.

Look forward to the competitive battles of main camp where evaluations through games and other tests will let us know where everyone fits in.

Pipes to swing an axe? Martin St. Louis legs look small compared to mine.

The Canucks not having enough cap space to sign their second best player and a key building block, while having what has been one of the league's worst teams for four years, is not a good look for the GM.

Throwback to all the Twitter capologists saying cap space wouldn’t be an issue in singing Brock. Now teams know Benning is desperate to shed salary and will ask for even more assets to move bad deals. #Canucks

Zero pressure on player to sign today....they know they will make millions. It’s not like the 70s 80s or early 90s when players needed the money to live. These guys are already millionaires at 21 years old.

---------------------
Zero pressure to sign? If he doesn't play then I doubt he's making millions. Maybe in Europe. Let's see him go play in Europe.

Boeser might need to face a fact that he's the 2nd best player on one of the worst teams in the league and he's not worth top tier elite money.

He seems like a pretty humble guy and a team guy as well. I think he signs what is a fair deal. Do 7 years X 7.2M and gamble a bit. I'd be fine with that from the Cancusk side and he locks in $50,000,000.....

Wow Rick D really seems to think Boeser isn't getting signed any time soon. Pretty scary for JB and his future employment.

I think GMs are not putting up with the BS of the RFAs . It is not like Brock is the only high profile RFA unsigned.

In the last two days two RFAs have been signed and it was not the 7 mil plus contracts the agents have been asking for. Canucks have 7 mil to sign Boeser but I sure hope it is 6 or less on a three year deal.
