I’d much rather Connor over Laine. He’s the much more competent player of the two.

I like connor too he had back to back 30 goal years

Either would be a welcome addition. I suspect Connor would cost a bit less. I wonder if he wouldn't sign for something along the lines of 5 years, $31.5M. That's right in line with Timo Meier's AAV and it gets him to UFA at age 27 when he's still right smack in the middle of his prme. It'd cost us a 1st and a 3rd.

Thankful to see Christopher Gibson is there. He’s a really big part of the future. 😂

BPT needs goalies too. I'd love to see Skarek AND Soderstrom steal the jobs from him and Coreau though, but I have a feeling that one of them (if not both) are ECHL-bound.

Certainly don’t want to read into anything, but we’ve got this line working together in the first group:

Johnston-Barzal-Wahlstrom

He’s going to have to knock Komarov out of that job. Hopefully🙃

I just don't know if the Jets would match that or not. I wonder if teams are waiting and hoping they sign one or the other before they pounce with an offer sheet, so they can find a number they know WPG can't match easily.

I’d argue that such a number is already known. Anything above 7.5 would probably (frank) them/force them to make moves.

I read somewhere that GMs were gonna wait till October 1 and offer sheet leaving the original team with no time to move the asset.

But they run the risk of the current team resigning the player too

I hear you but clearly these RFAs aren’t signing for whatever reason. Maybe they simply want out.

Not sure why.. They have a really good young core there.. Crazy young team.. Ehlers, Laine, Connor .. 21, 19, 21 .. Scheifele 24. Morrisssey 22, Roslovic 21, Lowry 24, Hellebuyck 24,... they are going to keep getting better if they stay together.

Laine has an elite shot and could make the power play much more dynamic but connor is probably better overall. Either one would be a massive addition
