I think the number may still be arguably a hair high, but if you can get him signed max term for it it's well worth it.

But I think that's where the difficulty with the Marner contact comes from, everything I've read says he refuses to look at anything with significant term.

thats what I mean, lets say 11mil x 8, most will be like.. ok..whatevs
its max term, wont cry about it.

but werentski and Aho deals make the 3x9.5 talk crazy

Couldn't agree more. Timo Meier is another one.

Marner is trying to completely eclipse any kind of comparable.

Bit too late IMO to trade Marner if he doesnt sign by the start of camp on Sept 12th. I mean sure you can trade him but the return to Toronto would not be great considering the time constraints to sign him. Here are some other reasons why....

- the acquiring team would need to get him signed within the next 3 weeks or risk cap fines for every day (approx $50,000 using Nylanders numbers) that he doesnt have a contract once the regular season begins. Its unlikely that any team has had serious discussion w/ Marners agent previously because I feel if they had we would have heard that an OS's being '

- There arent many teams that are ready to contend, have $10+M in available cap space and can afford to give the Leafs a reasonable if not good compensation. Colorado and Columbus are probably the closest match and i still dont see either making that deal.

I have no idea how to do that. So hopefully one of the other 5 or so guys who got the same message does it.

Marner is signing. Same with every other RFA. Book it.

I was a little confused about a guy coming onto a hockey website to tell you that you were a loser for following sports.

Dear Penthouse Forum:

I am attractive 22 year blond who gets turned on reading stories about RFA signings. I’ve recently been told by a wise but angry man that I am wasting my life. Any advice?

I dont care about the amt and term. I just want leafs to have a trade in place to send him to no media team as soon as signed so we dont have to hear from the greedy little punk again

Give him a 3 and 7 year contract offer..Give him 7 days to sign one if he doesn't then tell him to come talk to us next summer..where the same 2 contracts are waiting for him.

I'm going to apply, and when I get it you'll be a short leash. Probably be banned for 2 lifetimes by the end of the 1st week.

Can people actually do that?

Right?! If I'm given time to sleep on it, I'm probably not gonna do it. Catch me in a drunken stupor and maybe.
