I honestly do not understand where the questions of Dundon's financial commitments come into play here.

He has a weird vision of how the front office should function, but beyond that, all he's really done is spend money.

He opened up negotiations to extend the Hurricanes lease early (with an eye to developing businesses around the arena/football stadium himself), he's put money into the arena itself and hired a ton of new marketing/sales staff that the team had been cutting back on for years, and now has the most expensive roster in the history of the team.

I don't know what more he can do beyond building a new arena, which he's said he'd consider (Ideally, he wants to build a new rink downtown, but if the state/city give him a good term on extending the lease of the building and commit to upgrades, he's stated he'll buy and develop the land around the current arena instead.)

Does nobody yet realize that being a featured writer for Hockeybuzz is a death sentence for your career, right Jay? Jay?

Yeah the Dundon financial thing doesn’t make sense to me either. They’re only a couple mil off the ceiling. Amongst the other things Bingo mentioned. The only thing I can think of is people think he’s P.K. in disguise or the thought that a team in N.C. can afford to spend doesn’t make sense to the hockey world.

Not sure I agree on Eberle. Time will tell but I’m glad NJ avoided that contract.

Better hope Taylor Hall doesn't sign out on the Island to be with his buddy.

I can promise Lou Lams will offer him enough cash... if it comes to that.

Especially since Dundon practically bought a 1st rounder for $6 million just the week before.

I go back and forth on Hall. Healthy Hall is a juggernaut, game breaker. I love watching the guy play. Healthy Hall also has a nasty history of not being healthy, and I can’t imagine that will get better as he approaches 30. I think losing him would be devastating but keeping him for top dollar on an 8yr term is super risky.

Flyers best move probably just became the Provorov deal
