Wish all the best to Phil and hope Galchenyuk can bring good things to Pittsburgh. If he can be a 70% Phil in the scoring department I’ll be a happy camper.

it sure seems like Galchenyuk is genuinely excited/motivated this year. I'm sure contract year also has something to do with it. But those offseason workout vids are encouraging. Plus some strength and conditioning coaches praising him as one of the hardest workers they've seen. Not sure if that was part of his reputation before?

and we cant forget those Malkin pics. dude looks likes hes been training his ass off too.

Never heard about Galchenyuk being one of the hardest workers but it’s awesome to hear.
Geno looks fit af. I thought Phil did too while watching the press conference. (Hopefully Jacko shows up fit as well?)

Man, pumped for this season. So many young forwards to look for.

Christ, I know he wanted to be with his Daddy but didn’t know he let him dress him. Best of luck Phil, you got your cups and checked out. Have fun at the reservation casinos.

Hahaha...Phil's 2 regular seasons following the cup were much more productive than the two they won the cup. He also looked like one of the players who gave a F and battled hard vs the Isles in the sweep. Not so sure about checked out.

It’s not about trying or production. I’d say playing in the poop hole of the nhl that has 450 fans for his Dad seemed a lot more appealing than going for more cups in a hockey city with standards. No one bats an eye when the yotes suck, no fans and minimal media coverage, close to casinos. Yeah Phil has definitely checked out on his hockey career. Smooth sailing to retirement from here.

Phil looked thinner than ever in the Press Conference. I believe he has a few years of good hockey left in him tbh. He'll be the main piece on the Yotes PP and that will boost his numbers.
I think Geno will be awesome this year if he can find chemistry with his linemates early in the season.

See, I kinda agree with your ideas behind the Arizona choice. I think the lack of limelight, proximity of casinos, the fact he has two cups already and the weather were all big factors. I can't agree he was checked out with the Pens though. You can't be "checked out" and produce like that.

I think overall Phil's demeanor in general is of someone who's checked out haha , always has been, and when a team isn't winning it gets hopped on and dissected when really he's always been this way but has also always been an elite producer.

When he came to Pittsburgh, he came to Sid's team. Everyone that plays here knows it's Sid's team, just ask Geno. Now Phil has HIS own team, and I'll bet the farm he steps up in the leadership department and Arizona maybe has their best season ever.

In the meantime, lots of new faces here to look forward to... can't wait for the season to begin.

Lol this is retarded. Your opinions are so bad it’s comical. At least most of us get a good laugh when you post.

Grinder I’m by no means a homer for the Yotes but your post is uninformed to say the least. Everyone who’s ever visited this area knows that the east valley is 10x better than the west - the west being where the Coyotes play. They play there because they got an unreal deal to build there. The new owner has already said they’re going to get a new arena. There’s nothing wrong with the arena that they have other than the location.

They had a few sellouts last year and according to Fox I believe they averaged like 14,300 per game. Ticket sales have skyrocketed since signing Phil. We have Offices in Florida as well and those people tell me the Panthers have the same problem; the location of the arena is a huge problem for getting fans to go. When (not if but when) the Coyotes move to the east valley it’s going to be like Vegas where you have a ton of rich people going simply because they can and they’ll IG the crap out of it

Phil lives by OEL which really isn’t by many of the other guys. Im sure he’ll still get to the casinos once in a while, but it’s not going to be a daily trip for him. The Coyotes don’t have a great schedule and of course there’s tons of traveling. I still think hits 70 points this year with ~35 at ES and 35 on the PP

I think if he sees more Petts-Schultz and less JJ then he’s going to have the puck a lot more and we’ll see him frustrated less

I think the Panthers would do better in attendance if their arena was actually in Miami. Ft Lauderdale sucks. I’ve driven there from Tampa for a few Pens games and the only thing good about it is the 3 Primanti brothers there. Other than that there’s no (frank)in reason to go there lol

I’m actually not sure he will step up to that roll and I’m as big a Phil fan as they come. He doesn’t want the spotlight that comes with leading and he’s notorious for doing his own thing. I’m not saying he’s a cancer, because by all beat accounts he seems to be popular with his teammates despite being unpopular with the coaching staffs/FOs, but I don’t think he’s cut out for being a major voice in the locker room.

Oh it’s already past Tampa. We’ve had sunny days the last 3 or 4 days. It’s already up near Jacksonville. We’re already in the clear unless it somehow loops around. We didn’t have any weather issues at all.

WSCTeton what's the distance from East Valley to West Valley? Having an attendance of 14,300 per game is not bad considering the poor location of the arena. Crazy how they simply decide to build a new arena. So much money is spent to build it
