We've talked about the future of the team ad nasuem, so I'll talk about the fantasy part of the article. In the Yahoo format with all the categories and W-L for each one, Chris Kreider when he's on is the one to get. His extra hits and PIMS would make him more valuable than Panarin.

If you play in a league that counts those stats, not all do. My home league does, my auction league with Rotowire doesn't.

Oh yeah I realize there are different formats. I just always thought that Yahoo was sort of the hockey fantasy standard. Sort of like how with NFL it's either Yahoo or ESPN. I actually a big fan of the Yahoo method. It brings a huge strategy element into play and makes a wider array of players viable. Always funny when I can win a playoff round by dressing goons because the hits and PIMS puts me over the top.

I am in one on Fantrax that has faceoff wins as a category, dress four C, four LW, four RW, six D and a minimum number of goalie games needed for the week

If you are doing a category league, minimum goalie starts is a must. I remember the one year we did it in this blog where it didn't matter. So you could have just one goalie start the entire week and he gets a shutout, they other person has no chance lol

I do think they need to nerf the goalie stats. It is way too easy in those formats to have your goalies have 2-3 stellar games and then bench them for the week for a guaranteed win. Maybe saves should be it's own category.

In yahoo it's usually 3. Still way to easy for your guys to start hot and by Wednesday you just bench them

Rangers hockey operations changes from their press release:
The New York Rangers announced today that the team has made several additions to its hockey operations staff. Tanner Glass and Tuomo Ruutu have been named Assistant Directors of Player Development. Chris Morehouse has been named the team’s Director of North American Scouting, and Marshall Davidson and Derek Ginnell have been named Amateur Scouts. Steve Konowalchuk will transition from the team’s amateur scouting staff to the team’s professional scouting staff. In addition, the Rangers have named David Cunniff as an Assistant Coach with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, and have also named Chris Hoeler as the Wolf Pack’s Video Coach.

In their roles, Glass and Ruutu will work with Director of Player Development Jed Ortmeyer to assist in the development of Rangers prospects, both on and off the ice. Glass will primarily work with Rangers prospects in North America, while Ruutu will primarily work with Rangers prospects in Europe.

Yeah, I actually tried that and all of their info was from 18-19. Looks like they did finally update it within the last week.

Man I hate you.

I may be in the minority here, but if Hank DOESN'T return to form, he won't play much. Future in the goal is Georgi/Shesty. Quinn has made it clear: you don't play well, you sit.
Hank better bring his "A" game or he will be riding the pine. As much as Lundquist has done for the organization, this new front office doesn't have any ties to him.

Alright, anyone who is interested in Fantasy please send me a PM. If you just respond here it will be missed.

I will give preference to the individuals who played last year. I am still trying to figure out a cap for how many teams we will have.

How disappointing to read through this and not see anything about them getting rid of Lindy Ruff.

Loved the OHM line. Had some guys that had hustle back then. Jed, PJ Stock, Dom, Knuble, etc.

All those guys were fun to root for. Just too bad when we really became contenders most of those guys were gone. Would have been great if Dom won the cup with us in 14

Going to need more than just Kreider to fill out the roster.
