#2 center or not a # 2 center ...that is the question
whether tis nobler to stand pat or extend the reach to an upgrade at 2nd center
thats what makes the projections toilet paper ,not the next read ....
with 2 wks out till Labor day ,so many RFA 's in wait , posturing from all fronts
teams more and more waiting as long as possible to complete there rosters
and prepare for the season , a lot of teams are unsettled and how this all may shake out is anyones guess , SO i go back to original point..

last 2 yrs of HANK = a strong run for his last chance to the grail...

Or

farewell tour consisting of eroding skills and professional hand waver to the crowds

cmon , with 1 outstanding move to make and all the resources we have in depth
1. 1 yr vet promise
2. great prospects ( no Miller rykov)
3 draft picks
4 solid ,reasonable vet talent to supplement the trade

with all we have to offer & so many unstable rosters ,its a no brainer as to upgrading 2 c its just how good a center you can find , gotta be better than the Braassard Boyle level available now ... I hope we move & run for Hank & a glory
run to the cup....

I saw this comment in every blog, I will run it down the road. Unsure how you plan on fitting in $6 mil for someone like RNH unless you find a taker for Nam and Strome with no salary back, same with Smith. If any deal is to be made, it may occur during the year once the team really sees what it is.

The problem with these forecasters is they don't seem seem to utilize a lot of underlying stats and just go by what a team did the year before. Which is great for the NHL, bc the pundits and average fans can help create the they busted the predictions narrative.

My team was sold on the narrative of being in last place so late in the season. It under-played the fact they had played the fewest games at that point and I think it was like four less than the Kings and another bottom finisher. And they were about one or two points from moving a few spots up or if they won their games in hand being on the playoff bubble.

but Tarasenko went through a 27 game stretch from November 3rd where he only 5 goals and the Blues were extremely mediocre during that stretch

Tarasenko returning to his usual self and the arrival of Binnington were two of the biggest reasons for the Blues turnaround, not just catching up in games played

not a one trick poney ,R N H is a reach of sorts BUT NYR could scour the lg with our assets and procure a top 2 center , I cant see our trio of 1 yr centers handling the slot
Names & Strome neither one for #2...

i dont think the cap will be a problem to manage in a deal,I orginally saw Kreids as the main part to trade BUT looking Mika Artemi & Krieds , may be as big a line in lg
If Mika is going to become a trrue #1 , this line gives him the best chance

back to points ...Goergiev is a big chip in the trade as well

I think that could be a very potent combination, I would def roll that out in the pre season and see if they have chemistry...IF Kreider is here.

Your team on paper was really strong with the addition of ROR, but as with the past few years your goalies couldnt stop a beach ball. Once JB found a groove and stopped pucks, the team jumped on and played with confidence.

So you are saying package both Names and Strome who are 3rd line centers, to another team for a second line center?? What team would give up a second line center for 2 3rd line centers?? Which team is in need of a third line center so desperately that they would trade their second line center??? This team that you think is out there would down grade their second line in order to secure a third line center??

I will ask you this question, Since the Rangers were actively pursing a trade of Names according to rumors, those teams that need a good third line center could have acquired him for a few mid round draft picks 2 weeks ago, why would they now trade their second line center for both him and Strome, who dont forget was traded for Ryan Spooner???

Man we get it...we would all love to have a legit 2nd line center but let's face it...

In racing terms sometimes you gotta "run what you brung." Unless Chiarelli or Mike Milbury got hired again recently Gorton isn't going to be able to turn up to the track with a pair of "needs work" Miatas and trade for someone's track ready Shelby. He couldn't give these guys away 2 weeks ago. What is left are a bunch of Z06 owners who will tell you "no low ballers I know what I have."

It is what it is and Quinn has to make the most of it

Rick Carpinello today:
The team named Kris Knoblauch, 40, as the Pack’s next head coach and long-time NHL defenseman Gord Murphy as his assistant. Another assistant is about to be announced – we’re hearing it’s David Cunniff, who most recently was on the staff of Minnesota’s AHL team in Iowa – along with the addition of various staffers in developmental, training and skills coaching.

I don't know if you discussed this Jan, is there any worries about Knoblauch and Murphy's reps for being tattletales and running straight to upper management? I think the rep might be overblown, but I know that in Philly it was there. Maybe it's different because it isn't the big club with us.
