Great thing about Rush is that any of them could go in any decade 70s to now and be a good choice.

Collins fits better in the 80s, IMO.

and side note about Bruford - he actually was briefly the touring drummer for Genesis in late 1976 (post-Gabriel, pre-Thompson), too.

IF anyone from Rush is getting in it's Part. He was chief songwriter, I don't think many consider Lifeson to be the guitar genius that others are.

Fun idea but you can't do a hockey themed rock band and leave off Neil Peart. He should be the 2nd team G and Clapton deserves to C the 2nd line ahead of the 80's 1st line C in EVH.

And I would argue those that don't understand the genius of Alex lifeson are mistaken. Peart is the chief lyricist but not the songwriter.

Clapton was in the 60s where he was a total beast.

Totally agree- great riff writers but that's it. Love the band but they are not first or second team all-stars.

Part of this is to make people think about how good a person has to be away from their band/team.

Malcolm Young is like Brett Hull. All Brett did was score goals but holy crap did he score a lot of them. Malcolm's riffs sold a couple hundred million albums. He's not a centre but he can play wing on my top line anytime !
