Exactly. The first couple years of Jacks career showed us all about centers that can drive lines that contain wingers that cant finish.
Take Skinner away and replace him with Duchene and who exactly is scoring goals?? - RippedFuel
Exactly!
I’m so glad we didn’t get Duchene
Good post
We do still need another goal scoring winger though, maybe 2 |

Get a ducking clue, dude. Skinner was a regular 30 goal scorer and never had a playmaking or number 1 center, is underrated as a 2-way forward and draws penalties like a madman.
Okposo had a few above average seasons playing with Tavares, everyone knew he was a crap player with inflated numbers and no one wanted him except Tim Murrays drunk ass. - BeadyEyedDouche

He's going to do well in Nashville.
I hope. |

If it’s MoJo-Mitts-Sam for line2,
i think Sheary is the top candidate for RW1 |

It could be Vesey. He played a short stint at RW last year, and by all accounts, performed pretty well. |

I’m sure he will
But we have Mitts & Cozens
No need to go spend that amount of $$$ on a center long term
Not unless it’s a 40ish goal guy who’s also great defensively (like Point)
And not a 65ish point guy like Duchene
Plus he’d probably have costed us in the 10mil range
I think the Preds got a deal bc everyone knew he wanted to go there |

For sure. He has the wheels to keep up
I'd rather have a natural RW though |

I think viable options include:
Vesey
Mojo
Olofsson
Sheary

Fair
But he’s been successful on that side before
I’m guessing that Botts has been calling him a RW lately bc the plan is to give him a shot there

Yeah, it's his job to lose. An interesting middle 6 could be
Olofsson-Mitts-Reinhart
Vesey-Erod-mojo
Some will say that's too much to throw on Olofsson's plate, but his shot should be in the lineup and that 2b/3rd line looks pretty decent as an actual 2-way line

He’s eclipsed 30 goals 4 times in 9 years, I wouldn’t say he’s a “regular” 30 goal scorer. He has never had back to back 30 goal seasons either so I guess that is something to look for this year if he can buck that trend.
Regardless top dollars are better spent down the middle and on defence then on the wing and nothing anyone can say will deter my thinking of that. Skinner is fantastic but overpaid by $1-$1.5M annually. |

Pominville was on pace for 25. I’m not saying you can just put a monkey out there but we didn’t need to drop $9M on a winger for Jack either.
Olofsson-Eichel-Johnsson
Vesey-$9M 2C-Reinhart
Skinner-Eichel-Johnsson
Olofsson-Mitts-Reinhart
Which Top 6 wins more games barring Mitts having a huge breakout year ? Look at the Centres making that kind of dough and put any of them in that 2C lineup and I take that roster 10/10. |

According to Evolving Hockey, he was over-paid by about $600K annually. Compare that over payment with that of Hayes and others. 40 goal scorers don't grow on trees. I am happy they re-signed Skinner even if there was a $600K annual over payment. Imagine where we would be if we took his 40 goals out of the line-up?

They can be a little liberal with their analytics. They're getting better. Some of their top followers, however, are a bunch of Jeremy Whites.
"See, that bar is blue, which means he can play top pairing minutes"
"See how red that bar is? He's a failure"
It's starting to wear on me. I'm pretty over the offseason. |

I'm not sold that if you pull Skinner and put in Duchene that you're helping. You can argue it would be a better situation, but I don't think you can say that swap makes some amazing difference that propels us into relevancy.
Not saying you disagree, but Skinner >>> Olo |

That's what it's always came down to. Overpay a little, keep a 30-40 goal scorer. Or hunt for a new one for the cost of poop n pix |
