Obviously not as active on here at you Brian but I cannot believe it either. Still only met 2 people in real life though. Jan at a Rangers/Thrashers game at MSG many moons ago, and Plastic at the end of a Rancid concert a few years back. - evitageN
Ha that was completely random I was like that dude looks familiar |

aaand your point is...? - 21peter
I think the point is that not everybody understands that a premium UFA goes to the highest bidder. |

it's so funny, after so many years on this blog, the minute I see the name of some people I know exactly what they are going to talk about without even reading the post
Brukie is obviously going to talk about Panarin's contract every single time
nyrangers9798672456789 is going to talk about JT Miller (after years of talking Dumba-Coyle) every single time
oldschool is going to complain about Lundqvist's cap hit every single time
I could easily write the post for any of these three names and you guys wouldn't know the difference |

That site was actually pretty useful for the 200$ challenge. Was easy to sort guys by games played for a team and position. I legit had never heard of that site until a couple weeks ago. |

Also the 4 years Panarin has been in the league his point totals almost mirror Gaudreaus last 4 years |

Also I can almost guarantee in a couple of years there will not be another free agent available who is in their prime and top 10 in the league in points since they entered the league. Those players will be locked up way before by their teams. You have to jump when the player is out there |

I'm guilty of it probably more than anybody, but I think sometimes we have to sit back, take a breath and realize that we argue with crazy people |

I have made the point at least 100 times that a superior RUSSIAN playmaker like Panarin is going to do wonders for the development of Kravstov, and I just dont see how anyone can think that's a bad thing
Panarin will be a great for Kakko too, but particularly Kravstov. For him to join the team at such a young age, leave his homeland and have another Russian star here as a mentor, it's going to be great. |

Yea usually I let people do them but it is just crazy anyone can be upset about signing Panirin. Literally even fans and people that hate the Ranges compliment the signing. That is just crazy. |

basically if you don't like the Rangers signing Panarin for 11.6 million a year, the alternative was that he was going to be an Islander playing with Barzal for the next 7 years.
Any Ranger fan who would rather have that situation instead needs a (frank)ing lobotomy |

boring day ,big article on WHO IS 2c for the NYR ... this has been on my mind all summer 1st i thought Kreid was needed to trade But we need him for a top line & cant have too many kids in the top 6 KK & Kravstov may be sharing a top slot ...KIDS
2 c : its a question throwing kids at wont find the answer to and could stifle their growth , Using Strome or Names to play support roles puts hem n over there heads , lets not forget we are trying to start 2 rooks (KK & Kravstov ) in top 6 ? we are looking lie Fla did a few yrs ago with a kid top 6 line up, they got torched ,yes they could core but gave up more , couldnt play the demanding 2 way dont make giveaways tuen into scoring ops….
So , we know we dont have the piece in house after Z bad -—————the drop off is significant to which it will expose & over work our barely new #1 center .when i say barely it has yet to be seen if he can stay healthy & still match up against the #1’s & produce . Which brings me to a trade for a top center to fill the slot , Howden ,Andersen, Boo ….. Strome/Names plus sum top D prospects in Hijak ,Lindgren ,Keane,Finn Kid ,maybe even Lunkqvist if the return is high enough say… R N H edm. ?
IF edm. Holland is looking to change the culture & team dynamic know ,How better to do it with a move to the future as well as now
with a 1 out the 3 yg centers outlined + 2 yg D prospects outlined + a #1 pick ,throw in Names to help off set losing RNH
throw in Pulijarva ‘s rights and you got a small blockbuster deal , we can withstand the over pay & hit to the D prospects with K Miller coming next yr ( he’s the true thoroughbred ) and get a top notch player in R N H
so hypothetical deal : NYR get R N H + J. Pulijarva
Edm. gets Howland + Hijak +Lunkqvist + #1 + Names
both teams win now & later ….. |

I don't think we could fit this under the cap. We'd have to either give them an RFA (or two), or include someone like Skjei (doubtful they do that with Trouba here). I was on the RNH bandwagon of him coming here, I just don't know how you make a trade now.

I think the big moves are done, I'd imagine they have a PTO or two at training camp, (maybe even Dan Girardi)

I'm not opposed to a PTO, but I would see only them wanted LD. Would you be ok if they gave Phaneuf, Methot, or even someone like Gardnier a PTO? |

I don't think we would have to include that much. Puljarvi has like zero trade value at this point. I bet you honestly could do Names+Ada+maybe a pick or decent prospect and get it done. |

While having Zib and RNH as a 1-2 would be great, I doubt it would happen. Think they might be looking at Chytil to step up this year and make that spot his. |

I'd be ok with anyone on a PTO
I have never been a Jake Gardiner fan, but wow, I'd be shocked if he has to accept a PTO and not a guaranteed contract |

yep and it is possible that the Rangers make a trade during the season too, after they get a better idea of what they have, there are so many new faces as it is |

Definitely could see them figuring it out for the 1st 1/2 of the season as is. Might just all fall into place. If Chytil could take that 2nd center spot it would make things so much easier. |
