Anthony Travalgia: It could be a while before we see the Bruins sign Carlo and McAvoy In a sit down with Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston, Bruins President Cam Neely provided an update on negotiations with Brandon Carlo and Charlie McAvoy.

Man I just don't see the upside for either guy holding out. Both are studs and only going to get better. Charlie does need to stay or prove that he can stay healthy. While Brandon is probably just looking for a fair and solid deal.

Both guys are key on the backend though no doubt .. Esp with Z getting way long in the tooth.

Do you think bad blood is brewing between the players and the organization?

I don't. This is becoming the norm now with these young, top RFA. Maybe down the road if the Marners, Connors and those guy sign and McAvoy/Carlo do not, then maybe there may be some frustration, but I don't think at the moment there is.

He also thinks bad blood is brewing between RFA's and their teams. Seems like a normal summer to me, but he has sources...

I absolutely love Mcavoy and Carlo but I think the suggestion of a bridge deal @ $7-$8 mill is ridiculous. Charlies shown flashes and lots of potential but he's nowhere near that range yet as far as proving consistency and that he can stay healthy. Dumba put up 50 pts earning his $6mill a year deal so to say McAvoy is there is premature in my opinion. No way these guys should be looking to earn that coming off of their ELC's. A bridge deal of 2 years @ $4.5-$5mill should be the most of what he should get as a 'show me' deal.
Carlo- $3.-$4 mill range depending on term

Many top ranking league executives send him smoke signals and telegraphs cause he rolls old school like that.
