The contract to compare Vas to is not Bob but Gibson - if you think Vas is 3 mil a year better than Gibby.... we’ll thats Tanner level ignorance.
Gibson has the best goalie contract value/ talent wise in the league. |

Pitt had similar situation w/ Crosby, Letang, Malkin, Kessel, and Fluery. It is doable, but only worth it if the Cup comes to Tampa. Once their young guys require big raises, it becomes a BIG problem. They basically have next year, and maybe one more season to do it. If not, it will be ugly. Can't blame them. Window in this cap era is very small, so you gotta go for it while you can. Never a big fan of paying goalies big $$. Lundqvist contract is jamming up NYR right now. |

Yzerman obviously prioritized Vasi over Point. |

Can’t wait for Jim Rutherford to hand fellow goalie Matt Murray 10 Mil per year. |

Johnson, Palat and Killorn gone after this next season would be my bet.
Which is fine. Cirelli and Joseph are probably better bets, anyhow, and we have a host of youngsters that could fill in for Killorn (Volkov, Raddysh, Katchouk, etc.) |

I do wonder if they give-out that deal if Yzerman is still there? |

Probably not, tbh.
That said, unsure if that's a good or a bad thing.
This whole deal has me real torn. |

I'm pretty happy with it overall. 9.5 is a bit more than I would have liked, but it's reassuring to know that we have an elite goalie locked up for the entirety of his prime. |

Trade Stammers. His return would be huge, and his 5v5 skill are sub-par. Personally, at even strength with talented wingers, I would consider Johnson more dangerous. Point is your #1C going forward. |

Callahan and a 5th for Condon and a 6th.
The LTIR rules are so weird, I am 100% cool with this.
Condon prob. going to Syracuse. |

Or get flipped... or bought out...
Either way, I'm fine with it.
I feel like something may be imminent on Point. |

And it would fill this wagon of a team with high end entry level deals....
Anyway, what do you think Point will get on his next deal? Some guys are thinking north of 10.5M AAV, but I think that Aho deal should be a strong comparable. Especially when you consider their linemates relative to their points. Aho would have hit 100 points if he were playing with Kuch. |

Honestly thinking it's going to be a bridge. 2 or 3 years, ~7m.
The one after will be a doozy. |

Yzerman will never trade Stamkos. But I've heard he's about to sign Point this week. |

There is such a divide between good contract/bad contract by the general public that it should mean that the contract is spot on. |

Gotta wonder who is on team next season. 67 million in cap for 13 players. Cap only to go up to 83.5 and then lockout the year after |

I think you have to try and trade Johnson and now. Stammer is 1 or 2 C, fine mix and match him there. Point is the other 1 or 2 C. They signed Johnson to that silly contract while they had Point who is the same type of player just better. Palat and Killorn don't have great contracts but they are wingers so I say keep them and then fill around Stammer, Point, Kuch and the monsters back on D. The D concerns me more than the forwards. Starlman gone, Serg still has yet to really find his game so what kind of deal do we give him. MacD and Hedman are going to do their thing but injuries are starting to become a concern.
Vasy, I like the deal. Kid is 25 and now he's here for his entire prime. He needs to play less though. Last year there was no reason to keep playing him at the end of the year. We have like 2 backups now in Domingue and McElhinney, give Vasy some rest more often. |

2 years at 7M AAV with RFA rights would be a great deal on Point if that is what it comes too! |
