This is interesting but the fact that the article mentions the Rangers as having made an offer kind of loses all credibility with me. They are in a crunch to eliminate contracts. - Djapana
Would think Florida is likely fit. They have some cap room, and a Russian goalie

They also have Dadonov who has worked out really well since returning from the KHL. Yes Fla is probably the best fit but who knows that anything will happen with these dime a dozen rumors. |

spoiler alert, don't strain your eyes looking for Philly. Only 1 "expert" had the Flyers in there
https://www.nhl.com/news/...xaKzNxnMoMpHiHF4T0BM_HJwM - wcorvette
Only one out of 12 "experts" had the Flyers as a top 16 team in the NHL. Luckily the experts don't know as much as the posters on this board. Just like the posters don't know as much as the Flyers brass. |

Trust in fletch. Per Ek he made a great move by putting the fear of God in konecny with Stewart’s ATO |

Carolina, Islanders, Penguins, are they all really better than us? On paper I like our team. - ClaudeFather
The Penguins still have Malkin and Crosby playing at near elite levels, and Murray is a proven goaltender. So yes they are better. |

The optics of the Stewart ATO is what bothers me. If Fletcher had no previous ties to him, and he was being brought in on merit where he could actually compete for a spot I'd be fine with it. Stewart was toast two years ago, it's Fletcher bringing in a guy as a favor. |

Their depth and Dcore is horrible, Jake, G, and Coots aren't producing at elite levels huh |

debateable. their defense is pretty bad and they lost a point per game player. |

So you think they’ve closed an 18 point gap in the standing last year on the Penguins? We’re going to find out |

Like all the experts astutely pegged the rise of Islanders and Huricanes last season and the instant success of the Golden Knights the year before. Also very adroitly pegged the Jets falling short of 100 points this year and having a short spring. And their prophetic offseason predictions that Jordan Binnington would backstop a team to the Cup.
Now for the reality; any hockey person worth a damn will tell you they hate making predictions because the one thing they've learned above all is just how unpredictable this sport really is. |

I hate when people say dumb things like closing point gaps…Our goalie Carousel and meaningless last 5 games really made our point totals realistic and how many points did we have the year before? What was the point gap lmao, did we get that much worse? |

Well 82 to 94 isn’t going to get you in the playoffs. Better hope they increase by more than 12. |

Bring up the goalie carousel, but leave out that Giroux, Voracek, Coururier, Provorov, Konecny missed a total of 6 games amongst them. |

Provorov had a great year, so did Simmonds! JVR missed time. We are deeper than we have been in the past 3 years, we can sustain an injury. |

Who is the third line RW? 4th line of Laughton/Raffl/Pitlick? Average at best.
Need bounce back years from Gostisbehere, and Provorov. Not to mention Hart who is very talented and looked excellent at times last year, but you can't just pencil him in for a .910-.915 save %. Injury issues with Elliott. Niskanen and Braun both coming off bad seasons. You act as if there aren't a lot of question marks. |
