I don’t expect Stewart to make the team, but it never hurts to have a look. What I am expecting is a much more competitive team that challenges for a playoff spot.

So was Seidenberg practicing on his own dime while being on the PTO?

Or is there some sort of stipend/salary agreement in place when that happens?

Barzal was living at the Seidenberg's basement... maybe part of the reason for that arrangement was to not upset his MB's off-ice situation? Dunno if Barzal ever got his own place or not.

That's what I was wondering. He's out there, skating around with pucks whizzing by him every day for months with no paycheck/insurance, seems risky.

No compensation during the PTO itself but the Isles told him to sit tight with the arrangement and it'd eventually pay off. Ultimately, they signed him to a prorated $700K for the final five weeks of the season, so he made money off it and it was very little cap expenditure for the Islanders that late in the season.

When Seidneberg broke his leg pretty much killed his flyers career.

Larry Csonka is the only athlete that can give Ted Harris a run for his money in the crookedness nose department.

I tried to use "beat him by a nose" but couldn't come up with phrasing that didn't sound redundant.

Bill,
Does the team have some number of camp participants in mind as far as appropriately filling the two rinks for drills, scrimmages, etc? With so many prospects in college, do you foresee more PTOs or non-roster invitees?

Last season, after two stints with the Minnesota Wild and being claimed by Calgary off waivers from the Wild, Stewart was unable to find a contract in the NHL or any of the major European leagues, so he played in the British Elite League for the Nottingham Panthers.

Well, he can drop the mitts...so I guess you could say he was the Sheriff of Nottingham?

I keep hearing the Flyers are looking to make a trade to free up cap space so they can pursue bringing in another forward...

don't know much about this guy but Flyers are mentioned to be one of three interested. That said, the Rangers are also, which is near impossible.

Interesting, but I still think they need to get the RFA's signed first.

When is Trouba scheduled for an arbitration hearing? Can’t Boston just get a move on with McAvoy already! Go first you f...ers!

What’s the hold up with TK? bridge or not...Provy first?

would his first year be an ELC? Or can he sign any amount because he is 28?

Talking about the Russian Power forward. The quote bottom not working

I'm on the fence regarding 3RW. It would be great to have a vet in that place and allow Frost, Farabee, Ratcliff, Rubtsov, etc to get a full season in LHV. They would get "quality" minutes and play in all situations. Might not have that luxury with big club. Also get to play together which helps build that overrated team chemistry...

I also would love to see Frost or Rubstov make the team out of camp.

ELCs stop at age 27 for Euros. Don't think it's a coincidence that he's coming over at age-28.

Word is he's good buds w/ Tarasenko and Panarin.

Sounds like this guy has some snarl to his game, outside of TK no one else has that in our lineup. 3RW spot? Like someone mentioned let the kids play full year, big minutes, in the AHL. One year deal, I wouldn't be opposed, not sure if he'd sign for one though. In house options to take car of too.

This is interesting but the fact that the article mentions the Rangers as having made an offer kind of loses all credibility with me. They are in a crunch to eliminate contracts.
