Anyone who thinks the Flyers are in cap hell, should look at the team-by-team cap outlooks on Cap Friendly.... much of the league is in the same boat, and many are far worse off. - bmeltzer
but but they bought out Schlemko and his 600k hit next year will kill the team. Add in the gudas retention this year with andy macs money (this year and next) and it is terrible cap management. kidding of course
Though Bill others will argue what other teams do doesn't matter or make it a good decision.... |

In today's society that is called racism (I don't believe SSB is a racist, please read on). I have no problem if SSB wants to root for someone he feels is like him in some way. However we need to be consistent if we truly want to root out racism. If you want to elimate it you need to stop focusing on it. We are all either the same or not the same. Either accept that slight racism such as SSB's comment is ok as long as it is not meant to hurt someone (which his was not) or just be color blind in which that statement would not have been made. Sorry it is strange that you you called someone out for asking that question considering how sensitive society is today. Please go back to discussing Hockey. - hockeyphan25
I don't view at as racism at all, just kind of a weird thing to say. At the same time, I don't really care that much. But if all Stewart is bringing is toughness/hitting, I'd rather he didn't make the team. |

I don’t think jmatchett383 was really concerned with stamping out racism with his comment. I think he was just trying to annoy SSB. You’re right tho, I shouldn’t have taken the bait. Unfortunately there’s not much hockey to talk and I’m bored. |

Here is the thing. I have a general rule. If you're a legitimate Cup contender, you should absolutely be up against the Cap. If you're not, then you shouldn't be anywhere near the Upper Limit. There are some teams, one being the Rangers that are badly mismanaged cap wise. The Flyers are dangerously close to the same level.
(Exclude the teams who made their runs and are now on the back side of that struggling due to player decline. That is sometimes just the price you pay ) |

For the record, I hope Chris Stewart does make the team. We depth on the fourth line, NAK is younger abs players the same style, which is element we’re missing, which is I originally wanted NAK to make the team this coming season.
Most importantly, I love this team when a tough black player plays on it. RIP Ray Emery. - SuperSchennBros
They need to see if his skating is good, and I think that last spot on the 4th line is going to come down to team fit and the best player who can play the needed role.
Ray Emery is missed. Anytime someone dies young, it’s hard. His story hits like a ton of bricks. We can all learn so much from his life. |

Also, I want to go on the record that I might have a problem following a team that had orgies in the locker room. Call me old fashioned, but that just seems creepy. Ha ha - Dkos

I believe the 4th line is set with pitlick-laughton-raffle.
No if someone doesn't take that 3rd line winger spot then maybe they try laughton there. Then opens up a spot for 4th line center. Who are potential players for that role (excluding Rubstov)? Would they use pitlick or raffle there then add a winger? |

So in theory the flyers and other team may never be a true contender. Therefore those teams should not spend to the upper cap. Ever. |

There’s lots of options on that 3rd line wing spot. That is the first spot to fill assuming there are no injuries to the top 8 forwards. Once you fill the top nine, you have to think Laughton if he isn’t in the top 9 is a lock, but he can play center or wing.
I also think Raffl is a safe bet for 4th line, but not guaranteed. As far as 4th line center options besides Laughton...you have Vorobyev, Rubtsov, Bunnaman and Pitlick.
There are too many 4th line wing possibilities for me to list off the top of my head. I’m sure I’d forget someone.

The Rags have about $8m to sign four RFAs, and the Flyers have $13m to sign two.
So they're not close at all. |

Have to believe if Laughton is on third line wing then Pitlick is the
Guy for the 4C. Not sure why you would exclude Rubtsov? I would think he becomes a major competitor for that spot along with
Vorobyev. |

Well here's something we can all agree is racist enough to get you fired from your job under Federal Law.

Harassment Based on National Origin
Ethnic slurs and other verbal or physical conduct because of nationality are illegal if they are severe or pervasive and create an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment, interfere with work performance, or negatively affect job opportunities. Examples of potentially unlawful conduct include insults, taunting, or ethnic epithets, such as making fun of a person's foreign accent or comments like, "Go back to where you came from, " whether made by supervisors or by co-workers. |

All you would have needed to do was to kindly ask that the forum sticks to hockey. Instead, you made ignorant and unproven statements that stoke the fires of the very flame you sought to put out.

I am not so sure their are lots of options for 3rd line wing. Legit options anyway.
Raffle and pitlick need to be on the 4th line. If not then that is not good to me for a lot of reasons. If laughton is the 3rd lien winger then others failed to impress enough to get a spot. forgot about Vorobyev though not sure he is an nhl player.

exclude for conversation purposes only as what other options would there be besides him.
Dont want him on the 4th line as rather he expand his game on the phantoms and dont get pigeon hold as 4th line player so to speak.

The Flyers when all is said and done will be close to the Upper Limit. How close will depend on where Provorov and Konecny come in at.
