Horrible offseason so far. Other teams have done so much to improve their team (NYR, NJ, and Toronto in particular) and we've done nothing. Toronto somehow made their team better when everybody thought that they were going to lose pieces due to cap space.
If I was being paid millions, I'd be doing everything I (frank)ing can.
Seems like Holland has been all words and no action.
Pretty close to jumping ship at this point. Fuk this team.

And then he goes off to buyout Sekera... considering that he was playing really well when he came back from injury... I'm pretty sure he's close to giving Russell an extension any day now.... lmao. |

Jeezus buddy it's the middle of July. You may as well jump now because there's no way you're going to make it to October. |

Not sure of it could work or how much I even like it but...
Lucic and JP for Anisimov and Perlini.
Or something along those lines.
What do you think? |

Archibald is a decent pickup. $1M for a 4th liner is as good as it gets these days. Also, Josh has a Cup ring from his time with Pittsburgh, so... there's that?
This was one of the low key FA's I had hoped Ottawa would have signed. I'm okay with them getting Tyler Ennis, but I don't know if his ceiling is much different than Archibald's, at this point. |

You think his feelings are hurt now, just wait until Bob drops the mike at the year end presser. |

I don't know why people are so negative. Holland has acquired cheap depth and created some competition for bottom 6 roles. Now guys like Cave and Brodziak have to beat out Archibald and Jurco and Granlund. That's good. Whoever can't win a job can be buried.
As for Sekera, they obviously have confidence that one of Jones, Bear, Persson can win a job.
Lots of these guys can also be sold at the deadline. |

Might I suggest you Google the last 12 years of Oilers hockey? |

You can't sell these guys at the deadline, every team has a plethora of them right now, and there will be tons more available once teams set their rosters and start waiving people. I am looking to see how Granlund fits though, i liked his game from when we've played Van and he should be able to help on the PK. For me, it is a Sekera vs. Russell problem, as Sekera should have been on the right side of the second pair with Nurse, and now that spot goes to Russell again. Any kids coming up this year should be 3rd pair D. |

I think Nurse should be top pairing with Larsson and Klefbom moves down to 2nd pairing/PP duties....we all seen what happens when you rely on Klefbom to play top end minutes.....when he gets hurt it ruins the whole damn thing so less minutes could be what we need to get a full season of Klefbom

Huh? So a contender looking for bottom 6 insurance at the deadline wouldn't give up a mid-round pick for a guy like Archibald or Granlund or Jurco on expiring contracts? Suggest you review previous deadline details.

Sure, if you were Chuck Fletcher, Peter Chiarelli or Kenny Holla... Oh wait... |
