I responded on wingers. Girgs is their #1 defensive option. It's important and they didn't bring in anyone to replace him in that role.

Eichel plays occasionally on their 2nd PK, he averaged about 20 seconds a night.

My next door neighbor roasting a whole pig....plus having 2 guys shucking clams later today. 2 kegs of Flying Bison.

You are spot on, their job under Phil was to flip the ice with high energy forechecking, they did that aspect exceedingly well.
IMO, as a 4th line, they should also be expected to pot around 40 goals between 3 players...need to get some production out if them.
I would expect with the players they have brought in, the team's possession metrics will improve, so hopefully that line doesn't need to start 75% of the time in the d-zone .

You still have to take dzone draws against Tavares, Kucherov, Crosby, OV, etc. Let's not pretend that Sheary, Skinner, Olofsson, Thompson, Asplund, Erod, etc. are really up for that night after night.
