We'll see, I guess. I feel like he went from being promising to just being.

Forgot about Horton, capfriendly showed you guys with only 3 million - nyrangers9479
It also lists 23 signed players. Rosters max out at 23, so you have to minus one contract from there too. We have roughly 10.5m in cap space when you factor that in as well. |

I think it's 24 signed players, but 2 will be on injured reserve. |

I love the salary cap for the parity on the ice but holy hamburgers has it turned hockey talk into an accounting seminar. |

We didn't really get an offer sheet. We just got a lesson in how not to offer sheet. |

I don't understand why they have to pay more for less games.
I thought Nylander contract was structured that way cause last year they had the cap space and they were gonna need the room this year.
If this is the case then Dubus is actually a genius, used up cap room that the Leafs had last year and created space going forward. |

I know the game really sucks right now. Plus, Leafs used to be so much ch better before the cap. |

I don’t remember the league without a hard cap so, although I lean on the side of liking it for parity, I’ll accept maybe it’s not as entertaining of a league as it used to be. I’d imagine trades were a thousand times better back in the day. |

The game changed as it became worth more and owners turned to the cap to keep more of the money themselves. Players and agents are becoming more sophisticated on how to work within this system. One big change of s that RFAs (at least the really good ones) are now demanding more money earlier. |

i watched a 1980's oilers game a couple years back.
wasted half an hour of my life watching messier delay every other faceoff by 60 seconds to catch a breather.
the 5'8" goalies couldn't save (frank) all with basically a large set of player pads. so you know how they kept goals down back then? by hooking or grabbing to prevent a shots. it was pretty (frank)ing horrible.
ruined some childhood memories there. |

I think the game and the league are better than ever and the best of the major sports. But cap talk is a drag. |

The dead puck era was brutal. The games today are way, way better. |
