I forgot where I saw this. But it was proposed we offer Marner $12. Lose out 4 #1s. Trade Hall to recoup some of those assets, in effect we trade one first line winger for another at similar $ costs - only we get younger in the process (prime years coming up, not already passed). Of course that all depends on Marner. I thought it was stupid at first but starting to think better about it.

Better off signing Panarin or Duchene and not give up the firsts rounders. Then trade Hall.

I'm letting myself get excited for Boqvist. He looks so complete.

His highlights are pretty dirty too

I saw highlights of JH86 but not Boqvist. Think he’s wearing Mojo90.

It would be great if he can produce but I was thinking we could move Zacha to 2 line wing if not. And I’m hopeful Bastian sticks. He’s 21 and a good size player so maybe.

I get they are prospects and most won’t turn out, but just thinking back like 4 years ago when ray took over and guys like Q, Boucher, Santini, Wedgewood were some of our best prospects. Ray and Co had pretty much zero tradable assets and turned them into arguably one of the best prospect pools in the league. The guy doesn’t get enough credit.

Agreed. When Ray took over, many of were still dumbfounded that Lou did not move Zach for any assets. I think Lou, at that time, also needed a change as he was treading water here and was not the best cap friendly GM. Conte was also stinking up the joint so they both needed to move on.

Shero is a gem. Understands the cap better than any GM in my recent memory and knows how to build through the draft just like he did in PItt.

I’m sure once Hall shows he can skate like he did in his MVP year (praying), we’ll land him at a club discount front loaded 8 years at 10. He wants to win, Shero wants to win and the fans damn well want to win.

The Rags look like an extremely improved team. The Flyers and Islanders are right there also so Shero knows the playoffs run through the Metro.

If he can add he will, I like his “Shrewdness”... looks like St. Louis to me a little bit.

Ray the “Shrewd” Shero! Let’s see how Hall does in camp and then we’ll see what moves Ray makes. Patience, so much to look forward to!

I'm talking about his highlights for the year, although his goal and shootout goal today were pretty slick

But he wanted to come to the Rags for his girlfriend's medical career, the Rags and Trouba deserve each other. Hope the arbitrator gives him $8 and then they have to trade him mid-seson....
Larry Brooks is not so sure the Rangers can reach a contract agreement with Jacob Trouba before the defenseman’s arbitration hearing on July 25. He still expects Trouba and the Rangers will eventually hammer out a seven-year, bonus-heavy deal worth between $7.5 million to $7.8 million per season. However, the longer things drag out, Brooks suggests the blueliner could turn this into a nine-year commitment.

I wish nothing but the worst for the Rangers, but you have to think when they traded for him they discussed his willingness to sign long term.

The other key piece here for them is I believe when players file for arbitration it opens a second buy out window for teams. This will allow the Rangers to buy out Smith, Shattenkirk or Staal. They do need to shed a contract to get the rest of their RFAs under the cap. Right now they have 7 mil to get Buchnevich, Lemieux, Trouba and DeAngelo under contract.

I am sure they discussed, but the RFA market has moved and no way does Trouba give a discount to NY. He will sign a one year deal and rags will completely overpay next year. Could not happen to a nicer team.
