He was leading the league in goals for the OHL playoffs when London was eliminated. I know that isn't his primary job, but even if he didn't have a stellar series vs Guelph that is something that stands out IMO.

This is an example of Bowman getting smarter. He avoided jumping on Dzingel as a UFA and overpaying with term because he has an NHL resume. He may turn out to be a very good signing for Carolina, but have to wonder why teams like Columbus, Buffalo, Detroit, Minny and a few others who need forwards didnt bite.

I prefer what Stan has done - bring back Shaw and create a very competitive environment with many young guys looking for an NHL job.

You can't take that away from him but Once Guelph turned it on his defense just wasn't good enough to be a difference maker. It is imperative Boqvist learns how to play without the puck or in a few years he will be another Gus. The question is where is the best place for him to learn the aspects of the game he's weak at? Keith learned in the AHL under Trent Yawney. Is Rockford or London better from him to learn?

Where does he fit in as an everyday player?

Don’t want him rotating between 6and 7 - and he’s indicated (I think) that he’s not looking for time in Rockford (hasn’t he said he wants to make an immediate impact, hasn’t he?).

He’s going to be the captain on a good college team coming off the Frozen Four.

I’d think he’d be play in Denver through his tournament.

I think he will sign with the Hawks at the end of the NCAA season with the condition to burn a year off his ELC by joining the team at the end of this season.

If Boqvist plays at Rockford he can easily be brought up from Rockford to audition as Gus' replacement. I think he and Mitchell will be on the team for the 20/21 season.

I believe Stan is not getting better at his job ,it just he does not have 300 pound gorilla ( Q ) In the room to dance around .Having a coach on the same page as the FO makes a big difference

I think the Hawks feel it is Rockford. I think the Hawks know they need offensive minded guys on the blueline like Gus and Boqvist. Personally, I don't think either guy will be a problem for the Hawks because they will be more like a Brian Campbell contributor meant to cause problems on the rush and attack and give the team a boost offensively, like Gus did last year. To me, biggest thing Boqvist needs to do it learn to win more battles and get stronger. In the preseason last year he was trying but attackers could shake him much too easily.

AA will likely stay, unless a center can come back. I see Perlini as one that may move, cap-wise we are right against it. If Stan could make ONE more move to free up just a little. We be all set.

Potentially one good thing I see about him going to RFD is being able to bond with some other players that could be in the team pic in a few years.

The bigger ? For me is will he get the coaching needed from King and are there any mentoring types on the team? I know Versteeg will be there and hopefully that’s a role he can embrace and excel at.

Agreed, AA is more likely to stay although I believe he will be moved next summer.

There are still some questions on this roster, but it's now more about which prospects will make the jump and remain in the NHL as consistent contributors. My guesses are Kubalik and Sikura. Dach gets 9 games to further his learning and development but ultimately goes back to the dub.

Dzingel got sat during play-offs in Columbus. Had perfect situation for him in Ottawa. Not worth the money Canes gave.

I haven't seen any coverage and their website has a schedule/stats section but none of the game summaries have been posted yet. I recall last season it took the website a couple days to post game summaries so it looks the same this season, if not even slower.

Yeah, at least last year, it seemed like a one-man show. Promos, social media, game announcing, etc. Hopefully, he has some help this year. Great idea and obviously an attractive option for a lot of pro players in the Chicago area.

Most, if not all, of the London team didn't perform as expected once Guelph went on their run. I think it's more to do with Guelph's great play in that series and it wasn't the only time they went on a run like that in the playoffs.

London lost solely because they were weak up-front. Simply didn’t have enough forward scoring. Boqvist had 10 in 11 and Bouchard was also great. Can’t fault the London D. Can we stop comparing Boqvist to Gus, as Gus is clueless on the ice and should not be in the NHL.

Great deal for Carolina. Dzingel is better served as forward but nice to have a winger that can slot in at C in a pinch. Money dried up on Dzingel and had to settle for a two year deal at much less AAV than what he originally wanted.
