Take it for what it's worth but have you ever heard Bill Watters on XM? He used to be assistant GM or something of the Leafs years ago. Anyway, he's a very opinionated and kind of crotchety guy, and he was talking about the Devils situation. He does not like Hughes, says he's a "spoiled little brat". Also thinks that Subban will be a big disturbance after a while, and interestingly said that Hall is a loner in the locker room. He doesn't like their situation at all. Again, take it for what it's worth. - TheMessiah94
I'd take that with a grain of salt though. As much money as it takes to go up through the ranks even at a youth level, to some extent a lot of those kids are "spoiled little brats" . I don't think that the way Hughes was brought up would be any different than a majority of the prospects coming up now or in recent years.
As for Subban, I think he's started to regress. If it's slower, the Devils should be alright. If it goes quicker, oh boy it could be problems.
They better win soon. Hughes is good enough to be a face of the franchise and be a driver. However, I think Hall bolts. If he does, they could be in for more bad times.

I’ve heard him before and yea he’s a pissy old man haha

Definitely, Hall is going to be 28 right? Doubt he wants to wait another 4-5 years. Don't think the Devils did enough to entice him to stay until they're contenders, although they've definitely improved.
Leading point producer and starting goaltender are gone
None of their 4 highest paid forwards will be under age 30 when season starts
Their 2nd highest paid player (33yr old Dubinsky) scored less than 20 pts his last 2 seasons and last scored 20 goals as a NYR in 2010-11
Only 2 players produced more than 50 points last season
Your 2 goaltenders combined have less than 100 NHL games played experience
No 2nd or 3rd round pick this year and no 2nd rd pick next year
I figured since he was from IL and played at Ohio State he was almost certainly going to be staying there. Tough spot for CBJ, they're going to be a full-blown lottery team next year. - eichiefs9
At this point, that's the best thing for them. Have a horrible year, get a top 5 pick that should be a great player, maybe trade some older guys for picks, then potentially bounce back with a good core in a year or 2. They still have some good younger players.

He said they’re going to start like that, I bet they get split up - nyrangers9479
I don’t get why your so against this Zib Panarin thing together. You have a strange way about yourself sometimes like on your 1,230 previous posts with line setups, those two together doesn’t give you a stiffy?
I don’t see anything wrong with those 🤷🏻♂️ - Slimtj100
What we don't know and the Rangers need to determine is: how committed are they to playing Chytil at Center? To me, that's the one thing that could change how the lines go. They'd want more experienced guys with him, so it would probably be kreider and buch/strome. Frankly, I'd keep him at wing another year like carolina did with aho and then work him in at center once the other pieces get more setlled, but who knows.

I’m with ya on Chytil, he just fits better as the team is constructed right now as a center imo. We more wingers then spots to play them in
I’ve been trying to get a center in here all summer but playing Chytil at center to start the season isn’t the worst thing, if he doesn’t do well move him to wing. Chytil is most definitely the biggest wild card in the lineup, if he blossoms..oofah! look out the Rangers will be a top scoring team in the league

it really is crazy to think how much talent they have added recently - chytil, and to a lesser extend andersson were all we had for a long stretch there.

yep, and trades actually do happen during the season, I know it's hard to believe....
they could see what they got down the middle and make a move mid season if it isn't going well
what they have to do is eliminate 8 milion of cap hit ASAP

Old man Kreider as the oldest of the forward group. 1/3 of these forwards aren't old enough to legally drink yet.
When Staal, Smith, and Shatty are gone you will have old men Skjei/Trouba in the D group at age 27 and possibly backed up by a pair of goalies who get turned away at the rental car counter for being under 25
