When Hank was away from Dank cuz of dank's injury, he ended up scoring more goals and won the Hart trophy...

Would like to have seen more of that Hank.

When Danny came back, he was scoring points at a faster rate that Henrik was without him.

I simply think it was a pinnacle season for both of them but Danny got injured. I think they both would have had career seasons that year... together.

Id like to see Goldy in Utica dominating. If a skilled guy goes down, he slots into that spot
- CanuckDon

I doubt he clears waivers.

Doesn’t sound too promising

I'd move Loui, retain salary and add a sweetener like Goldobin for a cheaper Vet depth Dman on an expiring contact.

e.g. Thomas Hickey from NYI.

Almost Everyone clears waivers at the start of the season. Best time to chance it. And if he is claimed? Who cares

I'd send him to Utica. The agent wants to sit down and spin the ways that Van can trade away assets as sweeteners, retain salary and take on bad contracts to find a satisfying home for LE? (frank) LE. His 1m cap saving will turn into 100% cap savings once he gets a taste of buses, poopty motel rooms and Utica big city life for a month. I don't see a way LE makes any compromises in this kind of "sit down". Enjoy the AHL or tear up the contract since the agent thinks there are teams who would like LE except for that contract. Wouldnt that simply be the fairest way to get him into a role on another team that wont further hurt the Canucks?

I have no problem with it. I just think someone takes a free shot at him still. A non playoff team perhaps. Goodbye. Not caring.

I would give up a player like Jake if the other team took the full cap hit. Otherwise I let him sit in the press box and at the end of the year I say 2 more years to go.

Yeah and Loui probably won't go anywhere either. Like I said put him in the press box and let him rot. Make him go through the motions at practice and send him to the rafters.

Line juggling is for coaches who don’t understand the importance of chemistry & compatibility. We now have 6 who should always be top 6 with as little juggling as possible. Just figure out which line Ferland & JT are on. Personally, I’d have Ferland with Petey/Boeser, Pearson/Bo/JT & let them gel as units.
- DrChristianTroy

I'm good with that. They could go with more offensive type players in the bottom six. Spread out scoring. Interesting to see what players stick. What would be your take there?

I'd rather let LE play out the entire season in Utica before trading a young player away. I don't think they are at that kind of desperation cap wise this season. There is fat to be trimmed elsewhere for this season's cap and some will still bring in assets. Tanev, Sutter, Beartchi, Shaller, for starters. After that, LE only has 2 seasons left and his contract gets easier to trade off before the big signings are due.

I'd rather move LE (salary retained) and lose Goldobin

vs

Move LE and lose JV

I'd also rather let him play in Utica (because he can still play) vs sit in the press box.

First of all I think there is very little chance of it happening.

Secondly , if they did trade Loui and Jake it would give you 7.5 mil in cap releif to go find a better version of Jake

I fully expect to say at the end of this year 2 more years of Loui left.

If LE tore up his contract, that would save 6m cap and JB could still trade Jake and add a player one way or another. Utica.

Wade Redden rode the busses, I’m sure LE would too. I agree, I fully expect Eriksson to play out his contract in Van.

If people could let go of the bust factor/trying to make him something he’s not, they’d probably be very happy with how he’d look as an energy north south bottom 6 & PK contributor. PK is perfect for Virtanen. Structured. No room to overthink. Then turn on the (frank)ing jets when the puck becomes available. He’d score 5+ SHbreakawayG/yr.
- DrChristianTroy

Also use JV for breakouts from swinging back deep to going behind the net.

Yup. I’m one of the few who believe in his potential, but he won’t reach it in a limited bottom 6/PP2 role. No room for him on this roster.

Its headed that way. No Cap pressure now to dump his contract. There just isn't a spot for him on this team and LE knows it.

Sure.
I think he will be traded soon. After hearing Benning talk about Ferland mentoring him I figured he is already on the trade block.
This upcoming season is going to be interesting in many different ways. Should keep this board lively.
