I think JB is set with his roster. He has guys coming up in the next year or two to replace guys who will age out. He’s in the mode now of unloading guys.

Though, to be honest, I don’t know much about Honka. But reading that article with him as a healthy scratch most of last year, don’t know why JB would take that on now.

i think he would like another young dman somewhere along the line

someone decent though

Unless it's something like Sutter/Tanev and JV going out for for one, I don't really see it happening.

Edler, Hughes, Tanev, Benn, Myers, Stecher all in the top 6 already. Rafferty, Sautner, OJ all ready to step up.... roster is getting crowded.

Doing well...how are things on your end?

It's amazing reading these comments - have not been here in a while - seeing people defending Benning "he's gotten better over the years"...like trading a 1st round pick for Miller. I swear, for some of these stans, Benning could crap on their chest and they'd call it chocolate cake.

Yeah, I'm leaving you with that image.

Hope the June trip out this way went well.
The Benning apologists are too use to the Canucks perennially being crappy to mediocre with a couple of high achieving years. I was really hoping the Canucks were going to stand pat this year and go for one more high draft pick, instead they traded a 1st and are capped out with too many players. Once again, Benning has put himself in a position to be publicly violated by other GM's. Should be a fun season ahead.

Say hi to your better half!

Willing to bet JB has a trade in the works that involves Tanev.

Loves me some Ferland but he is not the guy you want to be the muscle to protect your stars.

I think he is a least 3 concussions deep that I know of. After the second he really changed his game.

Asking him to fight will only lead to a shortened career.

Although I hate that he signed with you hope he works out for you.

3 concussions? That is not a lot. He will be fine. Were any of the concussions from fighting ?

Of course, as I said great player. But the year we played you guys in playoffs he got injured against the Ducks.

Next year he got another concussion and was not the same.

Just saying, do not expect playoffs Ferland. And do not expect the guy to get into a lot of fights.

We don't need lots of fights....just guys willing to fight when it's called for . We haven't had that in a long time...

Concussion problems weren't really the issue for him in Carolina (Though I believe he had one). It was more his back. He got hurt about midway through the year and he never seemed to get healthy again. There was a stretch where he'd start a game and make it to about the 10 minute mark before pulling himself off the ice and then be scratched the next 3 games before tying again.

He's a nice player when he's fully engaged. When he was getting minutes with the top guys he was a menace. When they moved him down the lineup, he vanished entirely.

Likeable guy. Teammates love him. $3.5 is a good number for him if he can stay healthy. Term is a little longer than I'd like to risk myself, but probably won't be a major issue at that number.

Agree. Trading that 1st was idiocy and indefensible.

7 concussions is a lot. Here's still got at least 4 more to give... Before it's a real issue.

That’s a depressing take. So, another season of crossing my fingers that our difference makers don’t sustain a long term injury.

From what I've read/has been written about him, his play was starting to come together more and more last year in Utica. Pretty sure JB said he would have been called up last year if he didn't get injured.

I've found his decision making has been off over the past little while. Does good work but I don't think i'd be taking advice from him.

Offensively he looked good, defensively was terrible. I think Subban looked better than he did in the few games I watched.

I'm still hopeful he can turn the corner but he's not close IMO.
