disagree. they traded Eller at the same time and recouped those 2 picks. most of us were happy to replace Eller with Shaw.
- DoubleDown

Meh, not after Shaw signed that contract.

After wasting my time reading back-post, it has become clear to me all your cycles have synced up.

Cleaning up Lamoriello's mistake, in a season where the cap didn't rise as much as most expected was pretty tough.

I think Dubas has done a remarkable job so far considering the horrible cap situation he was dealt and the important RFA's he had to sign.

I guess what happens with Marner will tell the story, but it is not automatically the GMs fault if the player's side are being asshats... we'll see.

Laughable how Dubas is the boy genius and Lamirello the one that made the cap mess.

Dubas signed Tavarez to 11 million, when offense wasn't the issue...and COULD have really helped the defense if 11 million thrown at a couple of stud D-men.
Dubas signed Matthews to that awful contract. Either 11.5 over 7-8 years...or 10 over 5 years. But to hand out 11.5, and only get 5 years. Awful
And then, there is Nylander....that one is beyond any explanation. Brutal.

So....he may have inherited SOME of his issues...but don't fool yourself. I just listed THREE major reasons why they will be in CAP Hell for the next fore-seeable years. And, as a Hawk fan....we know CAP Hell. (But, at least a few Cups to show for it...so doesn't taste QUITE so bad...)

His cover of Africa by Toto is pretty good also...especially the bonus instrumental at the end of the video
