Again, Johnny Gaudreau is just 2 years younger than Hall. Hall's had 2 significant injuries more than Gaudreau.. not based off memory but just games missed. So.. we'd be getting 2 years younger, 2 injuries less, and -55lbs of strength on the left wing.
I want to like that swap more than I do. Of course, Hall won't be worth his ridiculous salary probably less than half way through it. - MartysBetter88
I'd sign Hall to the big contract. Halfway through the deal, the salary will be equivalent to 2nd liners and in year 6 just about 3rd line money. Surely he will be at least a 2nd or 3rd liner in year 6, so I believe the money seems reasonable. |

and what value has Larsson had? - devils2929
Let’s be real here....yes Shero got Hall at a good price for Larsson but let’s see how both teams have done since the trade......both teams make the playoffs once with one team winning a round....that’s it....so is there really a “winner” at this point of the deal? Especially if Hall ends up walking for nothing |

What about an offer sheet to Point, and trade Hall at the deadline (to recoup some of our lost picks) regardless of our position in the standings? |

Let's be real here. Hall scored 93 points and won the Hart. Devils are the clear winners and Edmonton are the clear loser and will be the clear losers for the rest of time.
You could have had Hall and McDavid and made the playoffs every year but instead you have Larsson and the rotting corpse of Lucic. I'm glad Chirelli destroyed your team so it could live in irrelevancy for the rest of time. |

Yep that Hall and McDavid combo sure got us to the playoffs....nope actually it didn’t and that’s providing Hall can stay healthy long enough to help with such a thing....hasn’t been the case.....also many would argue that McDavid should have won the hart that year despite not making the playoffs.....if you consider individual awards as the only measuring stick in a trade then congrats on the hart and lotto picks but I tend to judge trades on how the teams perform after the fact and both teams haven’t done too much

Just coming over to throw cold water on the Johnny talk.
No way Flames are moving a younger and higher point-producing player with 3 years left at half the price Hall is asking. |

you're right.. but he's only 2 years younger. the age thing is overblown. The money thing is MUCH more significant, then the injury history. |

Sigh. I loved Taylor Hall as a Devil. But if Ray cannot sign him before start of season then trade him. I do not want the season long drama of will he sign. Every day he gets closer to free agency is just more confirmation he wants free agency. No way JT2. Ray will get more for a full season then a half. Should be looking at Panarin chasing losers... |

It is I agree, but maybe a little concerning in the event you're the lightest player in the league and your linemates are all under 175 in Hughes, Hischier, and Bratt. Idk. I feel like good luck in the playoffs. |

Hall only played one season with McDavid, not much of a chance to see what they could have done together...
But would the Oil been able to keep Hall and re-sign Draisatl? Definitely not.

Sign HAll.
you have the cap room , you have the money.
Hes entertaining ...
7 yrs.-8 years. 10.5 ...
2020 y 2027 10.5 will not be alot.
and you buy him out those last 2 seasons or trade him then.
but for 2020-2025 when he is
29-30-31-32-33 -34 those are great years.
Teams need stability. like we had with BRODEUR. |

Good deal for them: he's a really good puck support player, will help guys like Boeser, Horvat, or Pettersson get more space out there.
Problem is that they left themselves in a cap bind: probably means they're looking to move out Virtanen. |

If virtanen is available, that might be worth looking into. He's still young and the power game takes more time to develop. |

Hall 50% retained to Vegas for Tuch, Gusev's RFA rights, 2021 Vegas 1st rd pick - bikeguy99
I like it but no chance on a guy that’s not signed.
They may do it if he agrees to extension before trade. |
