So 3 teams and the chance was 50/50 but now Montreal is probably out.....chances have dwindled.

I refuse to get any kind of hope up about JJ being dealt.

LA is one that has long intrigued me. I might be the only one that thinks this but I'd love to get Kovy. Even just to use as a PP specialist, I think he would actually be an upgrade over Kessel on the PP. Something like JJ and Rust or Bjugstad for Kovy with 2 mil retained would make sense.

The premise behind this is what position teams will be in once everything shakes out. Teams need to still signed players. Outside of Gardiner, the quality of dmen left over isn't that much better or worse than JJ. I guess what it will come down to is is his salary will make sense compared to what other guys are getting.

Yeah, I think if you clear out JJ there will be someone equivalent you could get on a 1 year deal. Even Phaneuf... I don't think he would be worse and he would likely sign for under a mil.
Del Zotto would be another intriguing option.

I've liked Del Zotto for a long time, but I think his best days are behind him. That being said, they don't need to sign anyone. Tang, Dumo, Schultz, Petts, Riik, Guds, Ruh and Trotts. Now, I'm not against the idea of getting someone better than Riikola if possible on the cheap? Sure.

Especially the Kings who already had him once and got rid of him.

Anaheim has Lindholm, Fowler, and Guhle on the left side. LA taking Rust and a pick along with JJ makes sense

Ottawa still has some ways to go in order to reach the cap floor. Send him there. Shouldnt cost too much since they need to reach the cap floor.

The only way I see one of those teams taking Jack is if we include a younger roster player or top 5 prospect. LA and Anaheim have already said they want to get younger so JJ doesn't make much sense. Also, it's the 4th period. So
