The whole betting against yourself argument is really annoying especially when it’s backed by nothing. There was rumored interest around Myers at the deadline, there was rumors about Winnipeg bringing him back, and there were rumors that other teams wanted him in free agency

Everyone though Lou and the crew would be garbage and they weren’t. Trotz is an amazing coach and Lou brought him in. Maybe they didn’t like Lehner’s attitude, maybe they thought it was a one off. They didn’t exactly fall off a cliff

The Myers signing is bad but Miller is the exact type of forward this team needs (an opinion shared by many), Benning has drafted some great players, and that team is on the rise

FL giving Bob that huge contract is indeed a gamble, but when you have Barkov, Huberdeau and others locked up long term you can roll the dice on a two time vezina winning, with still a lot to prove, top flight goalie who is good enough to replace a retiring hall of famer. The Panthers are loading up, I know that goes against everything that has been "law" for 25 years, but it's actually (frank)ing true (stops to do a semi-drunken jig). They signed Bob for 7, but it's all about the next 3 or 4. I know it's shocking to see FL getting serious, but ya better get used to it. They didn't give CoachQ $6 frikkin million dollars a year to finish ninth in East.... If you can't see how FL is a team ready to bust out, then you really haven't been paying attention.
& Wtf does drafting Knight have to do with anything? He'll be just turning 23 in five years, (btw, when Bob's ntc clause expires) and will be the NEXT one after Lu and Bob. Prime time for a goalie to move into the MAN's role. Nothing at all wrong with the expected timeline. It's actually well thought out.

Seriously though, Lehner and Greiss were about equally good, and much better than either ever was previously. So I'm thinking that Lou/Trotz/Korn think Varlamov is the better goalie and will have a corresponding uptick under Trotz and Korn.
