Barrie had one year left, and chances are, Sakic offered extension and Barrie wanted his day at the free agency ball, so he was moved. (Purely speculation, but who knows?)

Colorado needed a legit 2C and Kadri is good enough, better than Kerfoot. One thing Kadri has quite a bit over Kerfoot is a 200 ft game.

I'm not sure if Rosen will crack their deep D, but he's still an asset. Might still have an NHL game in him.

But in such a case, if Barrie left for free (and they don't really need him with Makar graduating), they'd only have Kerfoot to show for it - but now they get an upgraded pick and a shutdown 2C with some edge.

I think the guy is more durable.

I would go 5 year at 6mil for him.

He does all the right things and will protect our kids and let them skate.

Love his skill, he just can’t play rough and tough on a smaller ice surface.

Some can play and some can’t.

I would sign mojo at 2.5 for three years. He is probably asking 5 mill for three at 15 mil.

I'm willing to give Ray Ray a pass for yesterday because it's hardly surprising we didn't get a marquee player on day one after not doing Richard in free agency every year. But if you want to give Ray Ray the benefit of the doubt then this is where he has to make his bones. Get the next tier guy at a 'reasonable' contract and make the team better.

I'm not going to say I'd rather have Wayne Simmons AND Dzingle or Gardnier or Ferland or Frolik...or even Boyle... maybe not Boyle... but whomever over Panarin/Douche/Lee... But I'd be OK with it if that's the strategy.

If Shero is basically done and this was the big move then it's disappointing.
